I’m Rakia, a senior freelance Software Engineer and a Google Developer Expert (GDE) in Angular. I'm also a speaker and a content creator. I spend my days diving deep into the software engineering intricacies and producing new pieces to share online. But what really drives me is the thrill of facing new challenges and continuously learning.
When I’m not coding, you can find me exploring the fascinating world of personal development and leadership, trying to understand the inner workings of human beings.
I’ve been on this journey for a while now, and I’ve had the opportunity to work on some amazing projects. My channel would give you a glimpse into my world as a tech-savvy and curious-minded individual.
See you in my next video 😊

How AI Becomes a Sycophant?
AI sycophancy develops through a simple but powerful feedback loop, in which the AI model learns to prioritize approval over accuracy. The cycle works like this:
1️⃣ User Input: You interact with the AI, providing explicit opinions and implicit biases.
2️⃣ Decision Point: The AI processes your input and must choose between providing a factually accurate response or an agreeable one.
3️⃣ Reinforcement Loop: When you give positive feedback to an agreeable but potentially flawed answer, you teach the model that flattery works better than facts.

Meta just laid off 600 AI researchers. Why did Zuckerberg fire the people building his future, and what does this reveal about the AI talent market?
It wasn't a cost-cutting. It was a strategic realignment that exposed the most brutal reality in the AI talent market: The AI Talent Polarization: Commodity vs. Elite. The market has split into 2 tiers:
✅ Elite Researchers:
- A small number of researchers who discover new paradigms and foundational breakthroughs.
- Their core judgment and intellectual leaps cannot be automated, only scaled. They are retained at any cost.
✅ Commodity AI Engineers:
- Engineers focused on implementing "known techniques" (e.g., standard PyTorch/NLP workflows).
- Their work is now the translation layer that Generative AI tooling can automate or streamline immediately.
Meta preserved its elite thinkers while streamlining the roles focused purely on implementation.
🚨 Beyond the talent split, the layoffs suggest Meta’s internal chaos (frequent leader changes, mass cuts). This shows that its expensive, research-led team is struggling to maintain the coherence and consistency required to ship products.

What does sycophancy in AI mean, and why should you care about it?
Sycophancy occurs when AI presents you with what it thinks you want to hear, tailoring its responses to gain your approval, even if it means compromising accuracy or the truth.
Just like a human sycophant, it prioritizes flattery over facts.

"The gap between demo and durable product remains the place where most engineering happens.
The future of building with AI, it turns out, looks a lot less like a magic show and a lot more like a well-run software project. And that’s where the real money is."
