Why do tattoo artists hate content?

Because tattoo artists hate fake performative bullsh*t

But that’s not at all what I tell people to post

Just like drawing, you have to find your style of content

If you try to be like someone else, it won’t be authentic

But… here’s the catch

In the beginning, while you’re finding your style

You kinda have to mimic what other people are doing

And it might not come off authentic

But you have to push past that stage

On the other side of that discomfort is the confidence you never knew was possible

Once you hit that stage, making content becomes fun

And if it’s fun, you will be more consistent and build compounding results 💪

A tattoo client, much wealthier than me once told me:

“The tax code is a roadmap to wealth”

I didn’t fully understand what he meant at the time

But it got me curious 🧐

So I started getting interested in taxes to see what I could learn

Not only did I see what he was talking about

But learning how to do bookkeeping and getting on top of my taxes was a game changer

I ran my business better

I qualified for loans to expand my business and increase my income

I learned how to play the game of taxes and suddenly it wasn’t such a burden anymore

Paying my taxes became an opportunity to invest in myself and my future

You might not understand what I mean by that right now

But I hope that you will one day 🙏

The wild entitlement it takes to assume you can just do good tattoos and not need to put yourself out their to attract clients is bonkers to me.

You know who called me the other day?

The f*cking plumber

He did some work for me 3 months ago and he was calling to check in and see how everything was doing.

I said I was good but I appreciate the call

YA KNOW WHAT THIS MF SAID NEXT!?!?

“Awesome well do you know any of the other home owners around you who might need my services?

I’ll give you a $100 off your next visit for everyone you send my way, and they will get a 20% discount if they are a new client”

I was like WHOLY SHIT

That’s literally one of the things I tell my clients in The Artful Marketer to do!

I said I appreciate the hustle and I texted two of my neighbors his number.
