🛑 Clearing up the confusion: Who is the mother of Sultan Orhan? (Malhun Hatun vs. Bala Hatun)

Hey everyone! 👋 Thank you so much for the amazing response to my video on the mothers of Ottoman Sultans. But I noticed a lot of comments asking: "Where is Bala (Vala)? Isn't she Orhan's mother?"
Let's clear this up with actual history! 📜
1️⃣ Malhun Hatun is historically documented as the mother of Sultan Orhan I (and the daughter of Ömer Bey). Early Ottoman records, such as the 1324 Vakfiye (charter) written by Sultan Orhan himself, name Malhun Hatun as his mother.
2️⃣ Rabia Bala Hatun (often called Bala in shows) was also a wife of Osman I and the daughter of Sheikh Edebali. However, historical records indicate that her son was Alaeddin Pasha (Orhan's brother), not Sultan Orhan.
Why the confusion?
Popular historical dramas like Kuruluş: Osman focus heavily on Bala Hatun, which makes many viewers naturally assume she was Orhan's mother. While TV shows adapt history for drama, official Ottoman documents tell us the factual breakdown.
