The Indian Railways is set to revolutionize the Tatkal ticket booking system — and here's why it matters:
📊 Current Scenario (as per available data):
– Over 130 million active users on the IRCTC platform
– Only 12 million users are Aadhaar-verified
– 2.25 lakh Tatkal tickets are booked daily online
– Within first 10 minutes, 66.4% of Tatkal tickets are booked
– Within first hour, 84.02% tickets are sold
– Only 12% tickets are booked between 8-10 hours after opening
🛑 But from July 1, 2025, only Aadhaar-authenticated users will be allowed to book Tatkal tickets!
