We'd like to share an important update with everyone who applied for the 2nd Korean Speaking Contest.

접수 기간 연장에 따라 수상자 발표일이 한국 시간 기준 5월 20일 화요일 3시로 연기되었습니다.
Due to the extended submission period, the winner announcement has been postponed to Tuesday, May 20, 3:00 PM (KST).

이는 공정한 심사와 평가를 위한 결정이오니 이 점 양해해 주시기 바랍니다. 시상식은 변동 없이 예정된 날짜인 5월 29일(목)에 진행됩니다.
This decision was made to ensure a fair and thorough evaluation, and we appreciate your understanding. The awards ceremony will take place as scheduled on Thursday, May 29.

<2025 Korean Language Speaking Contest FAQ>

1. 지원 자격에 나이 제한이 있나요?
아니요, 나이 제한은 없습니다.
1. Is there an age limit for applicants?
No, there is no age restriction.

2. 상금은 어떻게 지급이 되나요?
상금은 수상자의 국내외 거주 여부에 따라 송금되거나 시상식에서 직접 지급됩니다.
2. How will the prize money be distributed?
Prizes will be transferred via bank remittance or awarded in person at the ceremony, depending on the winner’s location.

3. 지원이 정상적으로 됐는지 확인 가능한가요?
네, 접수한 이메일로 접수 확인 메일이 발송되면 정상적으로 접수된 것입니다.
3. How can I confirm my application has been successfully submitted?
A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided.

4. 접수 마감은 몇 시인가요?
한국 시간 기준으로 4월 27일 밤 11시 59분입니다.
4. What is the submission deadline?
The deadline is April 27 at 11:59 p.m. (KST).

5. 숏폼과 롱폼 분야 중복 지원 가능한가요?
중복 지원은 불가능합니다. 숏폼과 롱폼 분야 중 한 분야에만 지원이 가능합니다.
5. Can I apply in both the short-form and long-form categories?
No, applicants can only choose one category.

6. 영상 제작 시 참고해야 할 사항은 무엇인가요?
1) 숏폼은 1분 이하 해상도 1080X1920, 롱폼은 2분 이상 3분 이하 영상 해상도 1920X1080 형식을 지켜주셔야 합니다.
2) 영상의 총 분량 중 80%는 자료(영상, 음원, 사진, 이미지 등) 없이 얼굴이 나오는 채로 말해야 합니다.
* 예) 60초 영상 기준, 48초 이상 자료없이 얼굴이 나오는 채로 말해야 합니다. 영상 내 자막은 상관 없습니다.
* 안내해 드린 영상 규격과 시간, 요청 사항을 준수하지 않거나, 영상 촬영 시 스크립트를 보고 읽는 경우 감점이 부여됩니다.
6. Are there any video requirements?
Short-form videos: Under 1 minute, resolution 1080x1920.
Long-form videos: 2-3 minutes, resolution 1920x1080.
At least 80% of the video must show the applicant speaking without using additional footage, music, photos or images.
* For example, in a 60-second video, at least 48 seconds should show the applicant speaking. Subtitles are allowed.
* Failure to meet these requirements or reading directly from a script on screen may result in point deductions.

7. AI 사용 가능한가요?
AI를 통해 생성된 목소리나 얼굴은 사용 금지이며, 적발될 경우 실격됩니다.
7. Can I use AI-generated content?
No. AI-generated voices or faces are strictly prohibited. Any detected use will result in disqualification.

8. 한국 국적을 가지고 있는 이중국적자도 지원이 가능한가요?
: 아쉽게도 한국 국적을 보유한 경우 지원이 어렵습니다. 단, 재외동포 중 한국 국적을 가지고 있는 이중국적자인 경우 한국어가 모국어가 아니라면 지원이 가능합니다.
8. Are dual nationals with Korean citizenship eligible to apply?
Unfortunately, applicants who hold Korean citizenship are not eligible to apply. However, dual nationals of Korean descent living abroad may be eligible if Korean is not their native language.

9. 영상 촬영을 중간에 끊지 않고 한 번에 진행하는 방식인 원테이크로 촬영해야 하나요, 아니면 컷 편집이 가능한가요?
: 영상 촬영을 중간에 끊지 않고 한 번에 진행하는 방식인 원테이크로 촬영하는 것을 추천드립니다. 중간에 끊으면서 촬영할 경우, 중간에 스크립트를 보고 다시 촬영할 수 있으므로 감점이 부여됩니다.
9. Does the video need to be filmed in one take, or is editing allowed?
We recommend filming the video in a single take without any cuts. Pausing and resuming the recording could result in a point deduction.

10. 사인 앨범 CD는 모든 참가자 대상으로 랜덤 추첨이 진행되나요?
: 네, 말하기 대회 참가 요건을 충족한 분들 중에서 랜덤 추첨을 통해 당첨자가 선정됩니다. 수상 여부와 관계없이 진행되며, 추첨 결과에 따라 사인 앨범 CD가 제공됩니다.
예) 수상자가 아니어도 사인 앨범 CD에 당첨될 수 있습니다. 그리고 수상자 또한 랜덤 추첨을 통해 사인 앨범 CD에 당첨될 수 있습니다.
10. Is the winner of the signed album randomly drawn from all participants?
Yes, all participants who meet the contest eligibility requirements will be entered into a random draw to win a signed album. This draw is conducted independently of the contest results, meaning that winners and nonwinners have an equal chance of receiving a signed album.
* In essence, even if you are not a winner of the speaking contest, you can still receive a signed album through the random draw.
