Originally released as a "free album" in 2014, ‘DBR’ became one of the defining projects of Travis’ early career and helped set the stage for his debut album ‘Rodeo.’ The tape featured fan favorites like “Dr*gs You Should Try It,” “Mamacita” and “Skyfall,” alongside Young Thug, Migos, Big Sean and more
A decade later, Travis officially brought the project to streaming and gave it a commercial release. It hit 361K equivalent album units in its opening week and eventually reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Its vinyl release also delivered the biggest vinyl sales week ever for a rap album, with 149K copies sold making ‘Days Before Rodeo’ the highest-selling mixtape in history

At the time the album had already debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, moving 496,000 units in its first week for his third chart #1 album. Two songs from the project, “MELTDOWN” featuring Drake and “FE!N” featuring Playboi Carti, had already landed in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100
10 years ago, Travis Scott hosted his .Wav party in Los Angeles, premiering the music videos for “Pick Up the Phone” and “90210.”👇
The party doubled as a celebration of his new Beats 1 radio show with Chase B and featured an art installation by James Turrell. Ye was in attendance and at one point grabbed the aux cord to debut a remix of Desiigner’s “Timmy Turner” with a new verse from himself. Having Ye there showed just how close the two had become, with Travis often crediting him as one of the biggest influences on his early career
Also in attendance was James Harden, K Camp, Consequence, and more. Earlier that day Travis confirmed his album ‘Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight’ would arrive August 26, tweeting “I want y’all to take this album in as a whole, I’m so anti singles.” Despite a slight delay, the project released September 2nd and went on to become Travis Scott’s first #1 album
