The US Coast Guard has unveiled the first image of the wreckage of OceanGate's Titan submersible, which tragically imploded during its dive to the Titanic wreck in June 2023, claiming the lives of all five onboard.

The photo, taken by a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), shows the vessel's tail cone buried in the seabed at a depth of 12,500 feet in the North Atlantic.

Presented during a hearing on September 16, 2024, this evidence confirms the catastrophic loss of the Titan. Investigators aim to uncover the causes of this tragedy to prevent future incidents. OceanGate has since suspended operations.

Disruption in the connectivity between various banks and 1LINK — the operator of Pakistan's largest interbank network — caused significant issues for customers attempting to withdraw cash from ATMs.

The disruption led to widespread difficulties in accessing cash and impacted online money transfers.

In response to customer concerns, 1LINK officials stated that the connectivity issue with some banks was being addressed.

Earlier in August, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had debunked rumors about potential ATM closures, clarifying that there were no issues with LDI networks affecting the financial sector.

Pakistan has proposed a plan to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to lower electricity prices by Rs6 per unit by injecting Rs2.8 trillion.

However, this proposal relies on risky funding methods and may not receive immediate approval from the IMF.

The federal government has stated that Rs1.4 trillion of the total amount will come from all four federating units, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). However, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led K-P government has rejected its contribution.

Discussions between the IMF and Pakistani officials on this Rs2.8 trillion plan took place over the weekend, but no conclusions were reached. The IMF has requested additional details.

The government has proposed to reduce the electricity prices by Rs5.80 per unit by changing terms of local and the government-owned power producers, closing some inefficient plants and retiring Rs2.7 trillion debt.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has tasked the Ministry of Information Technology and other relevant departments with implementing the e-office system across all government offices. He has mandated that paperless operations be fully established within a month and emphasized that any delays in the e-office rollout will be unacceptable.

The prime minister asserted, "From next month, there should be no file work conducted without the e-office system in government offices," underscoring that enhancing transparency through the e-office system is a top government priority. He also directed that all government officers ensure that file management is conducted exclusively through the e-office system.

In line with the prime minister's directive, the staff at the PM Office has already completed training for the e-office system. Last week, the prime minister himself received files via the e-office system.
