Situated in Brescia, Italy, Sirmione is an irresistible hidden gem surrounded by Lake Garda.
This video was shot with poor visibility, but in better weather, as you can judge by any online searches, it's a luxuriously relaxing spot.
Plus there's a square and monument dedicated to and named after my great-uncle, so I'm biased.

Walking down the Saavedra is a joy, in part due to an overwhelming connection with the city and my Mum and grandparents living there after the Second World War. It's a vibrant region with delicious food and fantastic people. Don't try and negotiate with the altitude though. Take your time and let your body adjust.
In this video we see what it's like walking around Miraflores from the Saavedra through Diaz Romero and towards the former Colegio Ingavi and the medical centre, the Torax institute.

El Prado. The avenue where a previous visit nearly three decades ago saw my brother and Dad tear-gassed during a protest. Definitely a rambunctious and lively avenue where people protest their points and perspectives towards the government buildings.
Many good memories, great areas to walk and dine.

Maybe it's for personal reasons, maybe it's Hernando Siles stadium, more likely it's due to Eli's Pizza's salteñas and Pollo Copacabana, but I love Avenida Saavedra and here's a quick walkthrough during the Bolivian autumn.

If you think you've ridden a gondola or a cable car, you're wrong. Unless it was during your travels to La Paz, Bolivia, it was likely just above a mountainous or snow-covered range, or perhaps a vineyard in Germany.
The Teleféricos of La Paz aren't ordinary cable cars. They're amazing, useful, and the perfect way to view the city as a whole from above. This April 2024 serves as proof.

A lesson to every traveler wishing to visit La Paz, Bolivia: take your time and acclimatize to the altitude before exploring.
It's an amazing place filled with delicious food, wonderful, warm people, and maté de coca. However, if you manage to score a good deal from the northern hemisphere, your trek will likely be quite long and tiring. Any second language skills you may have will be tested by oxygen deprivation and fatigue.
