So, I'll be the first to admit, I am the production Jon Snow. I try really hard, but there's like, everything that I don't know lol. My grandfather had a PhD in music theory. I know a little, from him, but I'm a drummer by nature. Anyway, the purpose of this post is to ask for constructive criticism. I need to know what I'm doing and wrong. I want to learn, but I shut down when people are too harsh, because, frankly, it just pisses me off lol. I went through A LOT of harsh criticism with my perfectionist family. So, that's why it doesn't sit well with me.
BUT if you have genuine tips or suggestions for me, I will happily listen to and apply them. Thank you guys, as always! ^_^

Just something I wrote. I have really written in years. It was nice to actually put something out, so I thought I'd share. You don't have to read it. But it touches on grief and loss.

the fingers wrapping around my neck

Dead as the stone you're likely to become


ashes to ashes, dust to mud
I'm left here to sift through the remains
trying to find a soul, a sense of control
What he created, we cremate


closer and closer
hands upon me and I'm shivering
Dead and deader
You came to haunt me from the grave,
I left you in


Buried in apologies
Drowning in the memories
So far from the start, and too close to the end
All I wanted was a friend, to call mine


Betrayed and degraded
Too shallow and overrated
So far away from me, yet close enough to feel
Addicted and aware, you only called to say you're fine


On the edge of recovery, sharp as the dagger
Left wanting to feel the pain, dig a little deeper
You never came to find me, you never looked
I waited and waited, no matter how long you took


closer and closer
the hand upon me and I'm quivering
Dead but better
rotting away, the last of the questioning

If you're still here, I must be doing something right. That touches my heart like nothing else. Music has become a quest to make something beautiful. Anything beautiful. I don't know yet where this journey is taking me, but I feel like I'm a long way from being done. Thank you, for being on this ride with me.

The most real thing I can say is my music is the direct result of my own survival. The survival of my own attempts at my life. Obviously, I'm meant to be here. I have a lot to say. The problem is no one thinks they should listen. But they really should.

If there's anything in any of my songs that you all like, please, hit the like button. This helps me figure out what is really actually decent, in my music, and what is more of a stepping stone. The likes only serve to better help me understand what you enjoy and what you don't. I don't make money whatsoever on youtube. Please, don't think this is for clout or bragging rights or something superfluous as that. I promise, I'm still making music. My PC is pretty much on its way out; it keeps rebooting by itself, and other things. I did get the rebooting fixed (so far) - my RAM cards weren't properly in sync. Either way, I'm still here and haven't forgotten about you guys....Thank you, for your patience and support! ^_^
