Quick update on my end: I’ve been at a job I wasn't really enjoying for a while, and recently the company had to lay off a huge number of people after some clinical trial setbacks. For anyone who didn’t know, I was working in MSAT-Process Development on pneumococcal vaccine R&D. When the layoffs hit, the project I was on got shut down and most of my team was let go...and since my contract was ending soon, I would’ve been next.

So, I decided to jump ship and make a move. I just accepted a new role working in cell therapy, and I’m really excited about it. I’ll be manufacturing treatments helping cancer patients, which feels incredibly meaningful.

To be honest, the previous job really drained my passion for chemistry content, so things slowed down. But with this new chapter, I already feel a huge weight lifted, even though the transition was sudden. I’m hoping this job inspires me again so I can bring more high-quality videos your way. I truly appreciate everyone here, and I want to keep leveling up this community because you all deserve it. I do have plans for a video this week and should be out ready to watch in a few weeks. I am coming back with a very edgy video so stay tuned. You should all catch up on "Breaking Bad" if you catch my drift....

I was cleaning out the lab today and found that my base bath has almost completely evaporated after around 1-2 years. There was MASSIVE potassium hydroxide crystals in there. Here is a shot of the intricate slow crystallization process!

Edit: This is K2CO3 not KOH. Thanks to those who corrected me.

Shoutout to ‪@YouTube‬ for completely removing my methylamine hcl video and giving me a warning on my channel. The video will be uploaded again with some minor adjustments to “fit” the guidelines. I have had this video up for around 1.5 years. They denied my appeal immediately and I know for a fact they did not review it at all. EDSA content is allowed with harmful substances. The “S” stands for scientific. Apparently me showing how to make this reagent, going over the mechanism, and showcasing organic chemistry techniques were not apart of science.
