Hey everyone, this is Silent HeroX! I mostly report news about Neptunia or anything Compile Heart/Idea Factory and review them! Sometimes post stuff from other franchises.
So there is a new Dengekiko article was just release and they start talking about Neptunia Unlimited's combat. Something that is now confirm to be in the game is that the attacks do change depending on the distance. And on top of just turning off certain moves, I've seen some people comparing this to Kingdom Hearts.
So there was a recent livestream that went on for about five hours and while they didn't show that much because the game's very close to the release date. I can at least describe what was in that particular stream or at least the stuff I saw.
First of all, it does at least confirmed that most of what the Famitsu article had described about the characters are true. Ram mostly gets very close to the enemy for one and Rom did activate her Trigger Skill at a certain point. Secondly, it does seem like you can quick change between the Goddess Forms and Normal Forms. And how Goddess Forms worked is different from every other game which had them.
They are a permanent form for the Goddesses, but there is a certain cooldown if you decide to go back to the Normal Form. But if the Goddess Form's HP gets down to zero, you return to the Normal Form with LP instead of HP. A Normal Form's LP tend to be around 100 LP and a Goddess Form's HP is around the 400 to 500 range.
Eclipse Heart/Anna and Lotte seemed to be one of the characters that has a really good playstyle. I also noticed that you can actually juggle enemies in the air at certain points too. Other than that, I didn't really noticed anything else other than them showing off a bunch of EXE Drives.
Edit: Also, unlike SVS and GMRE, EXE Drive doesn't force you to turn back to the Normal Form.
Something I kind of want to mention because I don't think I have mentioned this before is that there are two images where Purple Heart has her original sword and her wing processors (Lost Purple).
Something I found interesting was from a recent Famitsu interview is that all the characters played differently from each other. And half of it is due to the Trigger Skill that each character has. The other half is their playstyle.
Like for example, Blanc has a Trigger Skill that draws enemies’ aggro onto her, which makes her more like a tank. Noire’s playstyle works more on one-on-one fights. And Ram is magic user that attacks at close range.
I do want to see how it works when I have it in hand though.
Edit: I decided to add onto this post by writing about the different playstyle for each character.
Neptune: She's describes fast attack and one of the easier character to pick up and play and her Trigger Skill, Nep Entry, lets her perform a dropkick
Rouge: Her playstyle is forcing her opponent into positions where she can attack easily and she has the ability throw her chakrams to deal damage from a distance. Her Trigger Skill, Breaking Club, strikes enemies from both sides with the Goddess's fist, causing them to flinch.
Ciel: She is a standard melee attacker and her main appeal is her straightforward movement, her enemy-tracking abilities, and relative easy for beginners. Her Trigger Skill, Adaptive Impact, allows her build power while being invincible and deal a massive slash.
Anna & Lotte: They can deal a series of high speed, wide-range attacks in their normal form. While her Goddess Form, she gains the ability to attack in a wider range. Her Trigger Skill, RXDP, pierces the enemy with swords of light and darkness.
Noire: She works more one-on-one fights, due to her linear attack/skills, and focuses on breaking enemy's defense. Her Trigger Skill, Agni Crash, traps her enemies in a whirlwind of flames before knocking them back in an explosion.
Blanc: She's a defensive tank with high attack power with really high knockdown abilities. However, her movement speed is very slow. Her Trigger Skill, Ice Peschtattung, draws the attention of surrounding enemies.
Vert: She is a support character that can buff the party and her finishing moves allows her to buff nearby allies and herself. Her attack is low, but with wider attack range. Her Trigger Skill, Micro Veil, envelopes all nearby with an aura that grants them a guaranteed critical hit effect.
Nepgear: She is describe as a jack of all trades where she can fight with close and long-range attacks, healing, and support. Her Trigger Skill, GearTune One, reduce damage taken and allows her to charge forward and ignore enemy damage.
Uni: She is a long-ranged attacker and it's mostly recommended to keep them at a distance because she lack melee attacks. Her Trigger Skill, D:PS, applies an attack buff to herself and summons an attack support drone.
Rom: She mostly excels at long-ranged magic attacks along with healing and support. Her Trigger Skill, Heal Spot, creates a healing area centered on herself and knocks enemies back with a shockwave.
Ram: She's magic user that works as a glass cannon where she has to get close in order to attack, but can take a lot of damage. Her Trigger Skill, Slip Zone, creates a wide-area effect on the field that deals continuous damage.
