Lack of screentime isn't that big a problem for me if it's used effectively. And Monarch definitely did well with the Titans. It was the human stuff, mostly the present stuff, that was stupid. And even then, less than season one.
So I want to give them their flowers. A stronger story would be appreciated though. Oh and stop fucking up the world building.
Even from an objective standpoint, Shin Godzilla was nowhere near the same success as 2014. It has no sequels. It has a failed legacy. Every attempt to recapture the success of Shin has led to failure. -The anime trilogy was allegedly (if we trust the director's words) sabotaged by Toho trying to make it more like Shin. -Singular Point while awarded for some beautiful scenery had an embarrassing story -It has been a detriment to films that wanted Godzilla to express more emotion like Minus One and Godzilla vs Kong. Confirmed for the later and the former is speculation but seems reasonable given the "Godzilla can't emote", thing that Shin started.
Minus One despite having stated inspiration is nearly the opposite as a film. Very character focused. Actually solid writing. And unlike the failed "god" that is Shin, Minus One is a VERY mortal Godzilla. I typically don't like that in a story, yet Minus somehow pulled it off.
Godzilla 2014 brought a sleeping giant out of retirement and as shitty as the Wingard films may be, the general goofball audience will keep coming back for them. I doubt a Shin 2 would be met with such open arms, especially given the change of political climate.
I mean I DID make a video on Heisei Gamera being strong, no one watched it but it does exist.
Though it is kinda unfortunate that Gamera got left in the dust. Godzilla and Ultraman shoot for the stars, Kong gets kinda dragged along but Gamera is just kinda stuck. Not a fate he deserves.
Now, I will say, Thragg and Battle Beast ARE skilled fighters-comedically so, but Invincible can't draw and this is DBS Goku so the no dif is appropriate.
