Welcome to West Coast Man!
I’m a licensed commercial/industrial electrician with over 30 years experience in the trade, DIYer, and farmer living in rural Pacific Northwest. Here you’ll find hands-on tool reviews (especially Harbor Freight, Klein, Knipex), maintenance tips, and behind-the-scenes farm work, all from a blue collar perspective.
If you're into tradesman skills, everyday carry (EDC), preparedness, livestock care, shop organization, or just want honest takes from someone who actually uses the gear, you're in the right place.
I post shorts, vlogs, and full-length videos weekly. Hit subscribe and come think, build, and grow with me.

It's a sad day ladies and gentlemen. I lost my favorite EDC flashlight, but fortunately I keep one in reserve.

Stormy Saturday, time for some indoor tasks. Gave some rusty tools the spa treatment. Overnight soak in Evaporust, dried and sprayed some Amsoil CLP on them. Came back later and wiped them down, then a final rub-down with some Ballistol. Do you have a tool maintenance regimen?

Workpro sent me these pliers to test. I don’t review anything until I’ve used it on the job.
They’re replacing my Knipex for the next week. Think they’ll hold up?

Hot take: If you need insulated screwdrivers for everyday electrical work, you’re doing it wrong.
Electrical work shouldn’t be live.
Turn it off. Lock it out. Verify it’s dead.
Insulated tools don’t fix bad habits, they normalize working energized.
If your safety depends on the tool, the process is already broken.
Yes, there are edge cases. No, changing a receptacle isn’t one of them.
