I cleaned the doghouse I recently completed,
and on days like this, I like to cook.
I'll be making lunch, including some homemade kinako (roasted soybean flour) that I've been wanting to try making with the soybeans I harvested.

いよいよ犬小屋も最後の仕上げに。
風通しと日当たりが良くなるように、
ブロックを壊した部分に柵を取り付けてゆきます。

作業後には、手作り塩麹を使って夕食の一品を作って行きます。

Now that the concrete we poured the other day has hardened,
we're finally putting the finishing touches on the doghouse.

To improve ventilation and sunlight,
we're installing fences in the areas where we removed the blocks.

After that, we'll make dinner using homemade shio-koji.

ブロック塀を壊し、砕石を転圧し
犬小屋の改修作業を進めて行きます。

Miso-making Part 2!
After thoroughly mixing the koji, soybeans, and salt,
the two of us start making miso balls.
It's still a while until they're finished,
but we can only hope for a perfect result.

After working, we enjoy a dish made with soybeans and kiriboshi daikon radish.

自家製のお米で作った米麹と、種から育てた大豆を使って

We planted rice in May, and have been growing soybeans in the fields for this occasion.

Using rice koji made from homemade rice and soybeans grown from seeds,
we will be making our long-awaited homemade miso.
