Here's how I grow my email list from scratch using FREE and PAID methods...
1. Research = Before creating your lead magnet / offer / building a community / creating a course you'll need to have data/information about YOUR IDEAL AUDIENCE, TARGET MARKET, Know your competitor --- this takes time and continuous learning but at least even if not clear you have in your mind the ideal person you want to work with
2. The Lead Magnet = Now you'll need to create something that you can give to your target market for FREE in exchange for their email address, name , phone number (optional). There are many types of lead magnet (ebooks, templates, videos, webinars etc) just choose one that will solve your audience's problem and is easy to digest. Still, if you did not do your research, this is not effective no matter how fancy your funnel is.
3. The SYSTEM = Now you'll need software that you can build a funnel to capture your audience's email address and name and deliver the lead magnet automatically the moment they sign up. You can build your own or use a marketing platform like Systeme. io. There are a lot of platforms out there that you can choose from. DO YOUR RESEARCH. I just recommend Systeme. io as it is the one I'm using and is effective on my part.
4. CONTENT MARKETING = The FUN part. This is where you need to SHOW UP and create valuable content for your target audience. Choose a platform where your target audience spends their time.
Just choose 1 platform to focus on to avoid burnout especially if you're getting started.
This also depends on the content that you want to create. If you love writing then Thread, LinkedIn, and Facebook post might be best for you
If you love creating reels or short-form videos then TikTok, Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels is best for you
If you love creating long-form video content like tutorials, interviews, how to videos then YOUTUBE is the best fit for you
If you love creating images, infographics then Instagram and Pinterest are best option
If you love creating blogs then build your website.
Again, know yourself. Know what type of content do you enjoy creating?
There should be a word "ENJOY" or "PASSIONATE" because building a digital business does not take one night to build.
5. PAID TRAFFIC = There are a lot of options you can start with. This requires you $$$$$$$$$ to spend on paid traffic. Also, time to learn if you are the one who will do the paid advertisement but again if you have the $$$$$$ you can hire someone to do it for you.
Building your own digital business is NOT EASY, you'll face a lot of challenges along the way.
it takes a lot of courage to do...
Based on my experience it's all WORTH IT!!!!
