Legendary National Award-Winning Singer P. Jayachandran Passes Away At 80.
In a singing career spanning over six decades, he sung more than 16,000 songs in numerous languages. He won the National Award for best singer besides five Kerala State awards & two Tamil Nadu state awards. In 2020, he was given the J.C. Daniel Prize, the biggest film award in Kerala given for outstanding contribution towards the film industry. Born into the Cochin Royal family, he graduated in Zoology &, after working for a brief while, turned into his passion - singing. He sang his first #Malayalam film song in 1965 and had no reason to look back after that. In his lengthy film career, he worked with numerous composers, which included the Oscar-award-winning composer M. Keeravani, besides legends like G. Devarajan, Illayaraja, A.R. Rahman to name a few. He also acted in two Malayalam films.

Dr. Manmohan Singh (26 September 1932 – 26 December 2024) was an Indian politician, economist, academic, and bureaucrat, who served as the 13th prime minister of India from 2004 to 2014.
As the PM of India, he made India the fastest growing economy, gave us Right to Education Act, Right to Information Act, secured the nuclear deal and ensured free and independent media. Singh, who was Finance Minister under then Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, was the architect and the brainchild of economic reforms in 1991 that pulled India from the brink of bankruptcy and ushered in an era of economic liberalisation that is widely believed to have changed the course of India’s economic trajectory.

Ratan Naval Tata (28 December 1937 – 9 October 2024)
The Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons and recipient of India’s second highest civilian honour, Padma Vibhushan, Ratan Tata passed away on Wednesday at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. He was 86 years old. Tata was in a critical condition and was under intensive care at a Mumbai hospital. Tata had said on Monday that he was undergoing routine medical investigations due to his age and related medical conditions.
In 2008, he received the Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian honour in India, after receiving the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian honour in 2000.
He joined Tata in 1961, where he worked on the shop floor of Tata Steel. He later succeeded J R D Tata as chairman of Tata Sons upon the latter’s retirement in 1991. Under his tenure the Tata Group acquired Tetley, Jaguar Land Rover, and Corus, in an attempt to turn Tata from a largely India-centric group into a global business.
