We are trying to get him an extension and come up with a plan for him.

If a rescue pulls him, it will be an expensive case because of his skin condition. He will also need possible boarding, if a foster isn’t found, for an unknown amount of time, transportation, food, and then whatever else he may need before adoption. Rescue is not cheap!

He is just a baby-only 1 years old. He is so worth saving !

He was adopted 1.5 years ago and was picked up as a stray and brought into the shelter. His previous owners have been called and are aware of the situation but are not coming to save him 😔 My volunteers friends Jill and Elodie have him now and are taking him out into the public to try and find him a home.

It has been a busy week in rescue ! It always is. The dog world really needs us right now!

I came across a post of a kind woman that found a dumped blind senior dog Friday morning. She found the dog the night before in Southern California on the side of a busy road. She was unable to keep him and planned to take him to the shelter the next morning.

A dog in his condition and at his age would be euthanized without sedation(very painful) in that particular county; so I went to pick him up and rushed him to the vet.

When I got him, he was very overweight, exhausted from whatever he had gone through, hot, panting heavily, and completely dependent on someone to take care of him. We ran blood work to check his over all health and took X-rays to rule out if he had been hit by a car. He was in okay shape with no broken bones. He does have several tumors, eye infections, and confirmed blind.

The vet did scan him for a microchip, and he had one. The owner was called and informed us that he left his dog with his ex wife, did not know how the dog got there, and that he is 9 years old. He surrendered the dog to us and now the dog is under our care.

We are not sure how long he has, but he is safe now with me with people who love him and care about his wellbeing. We have decided to give him a safe place to be in his later years. He deserves some love and dignity.


If anyone would like to donate to him and all our other rescue dogs, we greatly appreciate it !! Rescue is not cheap and takes many people helping in whatever way they can.
