On the final night of summer, 31 August 2025, the stars danced in circles above Xanemos Beach in Skiathos—while a Boeing 737-800 of Jet2, flight EXS-680 to Nottingham, carved its own luminous arc across the sky. Captured in a long-exposure photo stacking technique, the aircraft (registration G-JZBP) departed from runway 01, perfectly aligned with Polaris, the Northern Star.
Its light trail slices through the celestial whirl, intersecting the axis of Earth's rotation in a rare and mesmerizing moment. Surrounding streaks belong to other civil aircraft and a few satellites, each leaving their signature on the open shutter. The result is a visual symphony of astronomy and aviation—a tribute to motion, timing, and the quiet grandeur of summer’s last breath.
