🎵 Here I go again on my own 🎶 🫤

But YAY!! perfect timing for a group of random kids to show up!

Things I didn't consider the 2nd time around ;

•Water level was down 18" (compared to last year) making it difficult to climb up inside, esp as my shoulder and hip were f'ed up. The girls pulled my fat ass up enough for me stabilize crawling in 😆
**I wonder if that rope in the other chamber could reach over to the hole? Bet it could. Maybe a courtesy tip for those leaving to preset it for the next

•Take fins off before entering the main door. Concrete blocks are a nuisance down the tunnel and I lost a flipper trying to get up inside. But it eventually floated and was recovered by Aiden 🙌🏻
~ I wore them so I could explore deeper around the structure, but as it was getting darker, visibility was not good underwater. Plus I wanted to utilize the company of the kids as long as I could, so I really didn't take the time to explore because I knew they wouldn't be out there long with me.

•Find a perfect entry & exit plan from the rocks in the day ... even though I had a light, it wasn't the greatest as I made my way back up to the rocks. It was so dark and hard to navigate barefoot, esp if the rocks were not flat and easy to climb up. It took me longer to get up - about 15 mins! Plus there were LOTS of big spiders & webs between some rocks causing me to find an alternative route ~ wussie, I know.

•My dry bag sucked.... water still got in and dampened my equipment. Need to find a small waterproof container that floats.

•My full (wet) suit has been in my life since I started studying Marine Biology at UWS IN 1994! It's thin, mainly for sun protection in warmer climates, but it kept my body warm outside of the water! Sadly, I'm finally seeing its age and may need to get a replacement soon.

•Get a waterproof flashlight/headlamp?

•Do not use my current phone, rather charge my old phone for the pictures and footage. I was so careful even though it was in a waterproof case. I was afraid of it unhooking/snapping and being lost to the Mishipeshu forever - an offering I guess.

I know this was a very last-minute event, but it has to be planned perfectly around our temperamental weather, wind, and the water temperature, which all play a huge factor in a safe expedition. Which means it could change within a matter of days.

I hope to see some of you next year! Brave and ready for a spooky adventure. And while we're waiting for the summer to return, why don't we make some new adventures in the winter? I've already got a few ideas. 😉

Special Thanks to Jules, Zoey, Aiden, Ruby and another girl (I didn't catch your name) for all sticking around a bit later to experience a little paranormal investigation with me. 👻😊
