In case you missed my reel… here are a few photos taken at Long Stairs, a hidden bit of Nottingham’s history that’s been closed off since 1933.
They’ve now been restored by Janine Tanner and her team, and she kindly took an hour out of her day to show us around!
They’re hopefully set to reopen in April 2026 – very exciting! 👀💚

This weather is beautiful… perfect excuse to sit outside with a drink at Fothergills in Nottingham, named after the famous architect Watson Fothergill.

A lot of people have asked me if I’ve been to Stretton Hall Farm Shop and Tea Room. The answer is yes - I’ve actually been a few times as it’s on a walking route I’ve done around North East Derbyshire.
If you fancy a walk where you can stop off for a brew and something nice to eat along the way, this one is a good little option.
It’s a 3-mile countryside circular walk starting in Clay Cross, taking you along quiet lanes and through some lovely countryside before looping back round - with Stretton Hall Farm Shop perfectly placed on the route for a pit stop. 🚶♀️☕
It’s a nice easy one if you just want to get out for a gentle wander. I’ve added a few photos from when I did it a little while back.

If you’re ever in the city centre, I’d recommend Five Leaves Bookshop - an independent bookshop on Long Row in Nottingham.
