Since it is Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Day and many of my friends putting up nice photos of their military lives, I want to share my very proud tenure of my national service and reserve military life also.
Whether be it in my 2.5 years of NS or 10 years of reservist, I gave my all. Full commitment. And I educated Benjamin from young to take his military life positively and seriously. It also gave me great pride that Ben has and will continue to serve the country well too.
Even at 52, I never felt that I really left the SAF / National Service and should the day would come, I will still rise to the occasion that to serve and defend our country, as long as I am called and able to, till the day that my body fails me to.
“Old soldiers never die, they just fade away” (General MacArthur, 1951).
