🌿 Welcome to Allotmentjoy – my little slice of garden paradise here in the UK!
I’m Elaine, and I look after three half-sized allotment plots where I grow everything from fresh fruits and seasonal veggies to stunning flowers – and yes, even giant vegetables!
This channel is all about sharing the joy of gardening and the simple pleasures that come with it. You'll find videos packed with practical tips, planting inspiration, and even some homegrown cooking! From pantry staples to easy, wholesome recipes – there’s something here for everyone, whether you’re a green-fingered pro or just starting out.
For me, the allotment is more than a garden – it’s a place to unwind, have fun, and reconnect with nature. That’s what Allotmentjoy is all about, and I’d love for you to come along for the journey.
🌱 Let’s grow something amazing together!

That's all the redcurrants in for 2026. I still left some berries for the birds as well.

Apart from the purple cauli, nice little fruit haul today. Gooseberry jam on the horizon, red fruit for the freezer for winter baking, black currant jam possibly or juice and preserved cherries in light syrup for a lovely Black Forrest Gateau later in the year. A great basket to take home.

Nice little haul of cabbages, cauliflower and a single Kohlrabi. I can vouch for purple caulis that they taste no different to conventional ones. Durham Early cabbages gearing up to be harvested soon.

I gave my dog a short short haircut. She has thicker hair than the other two so last night, I decided to give her a first cut and then finish off the job today. Tomorrow will be a lot cooler for her but tonight, I'm watering the allotment until dark and beyond until it's done. Priorities.

Well, cautiously speaking but chuffed nontheless, I can now say that the channel has reached the 500 subscriber mark. I know, I know, it's not 4000 watch hours but I remember when I had only three subscribers. Thank you to everyone, who has stuck it out with me and the channel ❤️👍 Elaine from Allotmentjoy. 😊

It's not all weeding, planting and watering. When you have grass, it's something extra to take care of. Out came the mower and the strimmer. Why I decided to do exactly that on a hot afternoon is beyond me lol. Happy gardening folks 🤣🥵

It might be damp and drizzling a little, but its just the right temperature to put out the tomatoes and celery.
Volunteer tomatoes from the greenhouse. Spice it up a little lol. Celery, Golden Self Blanching, Sunbaby tomatoes and lastly, Moneymaker.
Making most of the cooler temperatures to get all the plants out before it warms up again. Oh, and collecting as much water for hotter days.

I was a bit puzzled what exactly has come up on the plot. It was with the other alliums but strangely, this is different. It called Allium siculum or Sicilian Honey Garlic or Mediterranean Bells. Probably got accidentally mixed in with some alliums I bought. Neat!! 🌸
