gays, this may be the craziest AU change I ever did...
I thought about it for a long time (since "Aftons meet Ennard", I think u noticed) and finally decided to add 2nd mrs Afton😭

so yeah, Michael now has a different mom from CC and Elizabeth.
her name is Lora. she and William divorced when Michael was 3, so he doesn't really remember his biological mom, only knows that William's new wife is his stepmother.
Lora wasn't a bad mom, she was a bad wife. everything led to a divorce and custody of Michael went to William.

and yes, Lora now possesses Ballora. mrs Afton (2nd, she doesn't get a name) doesn't possess anyone, she's just a soul. mrs Afton had lung cancer, but died during her illness from a different cause.
Lora died to Ballora.
William created Ballora in the image of his ex-wife, but mrs Afton only knew a few things about her so she didn't suspect anything and thought William created Ballora without any inspiration.

Elizabeth and Lora didn't know that they were practically a family
+ Lora is a passive soul and rarely made contact with other souls.
