I still haven't posted in a long time. Maybe I should do a recap video on what I've done in the past couple months:

1. There are now 57 cores (3 might need major reworks/removal)
2. Enemies can now bare equipment
3. EXP and level ups are implemented (in an ugly way)
4. Level up rewards can be respec'd at the Install Wizard

I feel really bad about not having much to show for Planar Robit last month. Here’s the newest character designs (and a redesign) from May. We’re now up to 78 robits!

Just so everyone is aware, my account may or may not be temporarily banned soon due to the false copyright claim on my Nights of ROGI soundtrack video. I’m on my second appeal, which means I will receive a strike if the scammers reject it.

The content in question is a song named “March Militaire”. It’s performed by Ms. Melody (me), composed by Hans Schubert, and arranged by Franz Liszt. Both the composer and arranger passed during the 1800s. In US copyright law, any song created before 1930 is public domain (i.e. free to use and redistribute by anyone).

The companies claiming to own this work have no right to take what was never theirs, and I will oppose them until I have no options left. It isn’t about money (the video was never meant to be monetized), it’s about the principle.

I recognize I haven’t uploaded in a month, but it’s not from a lack of effort. There’s a very big robit project in the works, but I don’t want to spoil anything yet.

On an unrelated note, I just created character #75. The roster is yet another step closer to completion!

I have a checklist of minor Planar Robit updates before I move on to the next big step. Should I stream it?

1. Add dialogue trigger regions.
2. Add post-ROGI dialogue.
3. Add story progression hints to the pause menu
4. Add controller configuration to the save file and code to refresh the control scheme when loading the game.
5. Add conditional music, recycling code from NPCs.
6. Add sound effects to ROGI.
7. Add hoppers to ROGI. (i.e. checkers pieces)

I’m not sure this is worth an entire video or not, but I added a settings menu to the pause screen. Right now, you can only use it to adjust the window mode, volume mixing, and controls. I may add more options in the future.

I added some city lights for the Comtower scenes. I think they really help pull things together! I might need to make it more colorful, though.

Planar Robit's second anniversery was yesterday. Oops. Again. I don't have anything special to show off this time, since I'm still quite focused on my next level scene. Here's a little preview!

I went down a rabbit hole working on a mechanic unrelated to the roadmap again, so I’m quite a ways behind schedule. On the bright side, debuffs are a thing now! The characters get recolored based on the average brightness, color, and intensity of each debuff they have. You can see some of the color mixing in action here:

I’ve been working on a new level scene lately, but it’s not enough to warrant an entire dev log.

This is the first Kernel Metro level scene. Kernel Metro is planned to be the location of the last two chapters of Planar Robit (and also the location of another secret project). It’s a city on an oil rig, serving as the capital of the robit world.

It still needs quite a bit of work, but I’m liking where it’s going. The background buildings and the city below are subject to change as the rest of the area gets more fleshed out.
