🇨🇳 Can Indians Get a China Visa on Arrival?
Yes—but only under specific conditions.

Many travellers believe Indian passport holders can simply arrive in China and receive a visa. This is NOT true.

A China Port Visa (Visa on Arrival) may be available for eligible Indian travellers entering Mainland China from Hong Kong through designated ports, subject to approval by the Chinese Immigration Authorities.

✅ Eligibility

👥 Minimum 2 travellers are required.

🚆 Entry must be from Hong Kong through an approved immigration port.

📝 Hong Kong Pre-Arrival Registration (PAR) should be completed before travelling (where applicable).

📍 The Port Visa is generally valid only within Guangdong Province, including cities such as:

✔ Shenzhen

✔ Guangzhou

✔ Foshan

✔ Dongguan

✔ Zhuhai

✔ Zhongshan

✔ Huizhou

✔ Jiangmen

✔ Zhaoqing

(Travel outside Guangdong Province is not permitted under this visa.)

📄 Required Documents

✅ Original Passport (Minimum 6 Months Validity)

✅ Confirmed Flight Ticket

✅ Confirmed Hotel Booking (Pay-at-Hotel bookings are generally acceptable.)

✅ Taxi/Private Transfer Booking from Hong Kong to the designated entry port

✅ Passport-size Photograph (if required)

✅ Proof of Sufficient Funds

✅ Applicable Visa Fee

⚠ Important Information

❗ Even if you have all the required documents, Chinese Immigration Authorities may still refuse to issue a Port Visa or deny entry into Mainland China. The final decision always rests with the immigration officer at the port of entry.

❗ If your passport already contains one or more previous China visas or you frequently travel to China for business, we strongly recommend applying for a regular China Business (M) Visa instead of relying on a Port Visa.

❗ Port Visa approval is not guaranteed, even when all eligibility requirements are met.

Big changes are coming to how you'll collect your passport after your visa interview. Starting August 1, 2025, the rules are being updated for better security.

Here’s the breakdown:

No More Third-Party Collection: You can no longer send a representative to pick up your passport.

In-Person Pickup Required: All applicants must now collect their own passports.

Rules for Minors: For applicants under 18, a parent/guardian must collect the passport and bring an original consent letter signed by BOTH parents.

Home Delivery Option: For your convenience, you can opt for passport delivery to your home or office for a fee of ₹1200.
