In March 1945, German general Dietrich von Saucken walked into the Reich Chancellery with his sabre at his side, his monocle in place, and refused to obey Hitler to his face.
Eight weeks later, he was offered a chance to escape west.
He refused that too.
This is the story of the German general who defied Hitler, stayed with his men, and paid for it with ten years in Soviet captivity.
