I am currently accepting students for my class on "The Institutes of the Christian Religion." ('Institutes' for short). The class will begin in January 2026. You have a little more than a month to enroll.
We will be using the John Allen translation of the Institutes, which is the best translation in English.
The class will be held once a week, conducted live over the internet. I accept small groups, but also individual students. Each class is at least 2 hours long, students will be required to keep several notebooks, and students will be required to articulate the various positions we come across in Calvin's writing.
This is an academic class, rather than a casual discussion.
If students do not make progress, they will be dismissed. Adjusting for inflation, the cost is now $50.00 per class. If you are unable to meet this fee, then we may be able to have several churches sponsor your tuition.
If you are interested in taking this class, then contact me immediately, so we can schedule an interview and take care of preliminary conditions, such as obtaining the text and setting a consistent day and time. If interested, email:

Not many today consider the full extent to which God controls and directs our minds from moment to moment. One’s concentration, what we call paying attention, depends entirely upon the will of God, not us. Throughout the day, as you go about your business, as you are glancing around, your field of vision is filled with various colors. As we look at the world around us, we exercise our private individual judgment—we judge that this group of colors is a book, and that collection of colors is a door, while those colors over there are a tree, and that set of colors in front of me are my friends, and so on.
Our mind continuously makes private individual judgments, as we think that this set of colors is the wall and that set is the door. But God controls and determines what comes to your attention, and it is the Lord who causes you to perceive this, rather than that. The Almighty causes your mind to recognize exactly what He wants—and Jehovah also causes you to not notice other things. For instance, if a reporter asks a boxer: “Can you tell us about that last punch that knocked you out?” The boxer replies: “I never saw it coming.” God, who is the ultimate cause of all things, can easily make a knock-out blow invisible to our perception, and so indefensible.
Consider the wicked men of Sodom, who assaulted Lot’s house in Genesis 19:1-11. Jehovah defended Lot and his family inside their home by causing the men of Sodom to suddenly become blind, making them incapable of finding Lot’s door. God brought this to pass by having His angels smite the Sodomites. The Lord is meticulously in control of your senses each second. Thus, we pray to God to forgive our sins, and to grant us good judgment when we drive, use dangerous instruments, cook, and so on.
Think about this: a person frantically looking for some common item around their house, like say a set of car keys. As you watch them search through their rooms and items looking for it, you may realize the importance of God directing our attention and determining our judgments. Once, a friend of mine was desperately trying to find his car keys. He was tearing his house apart looking for them. He was in a hurry. I helped him look for a while, then I noticed something. Something shiny caught my eye. It was his car keys. They were clinched in his left hand, as he was running around looking all over for them! I laughed and said, “Hey, they’re in your left hand!” He said, “What?” I laughed, “Look at your left hand.” He glanced down at his hand and also laughed with surprise. He had forgotten that he was holding them, even as he searched for them. How did that happen?
Such things occur because God is in complete control of our perceptions, memory, and judgments from second to second. You can be looking right at something, but if God does not cause you to notice it—to judge this group of colors to be whatever it is you are looking for—the item, whatever it may be, is invisible to you. The same was true for my friend, who forgot he was holding the very thing he was seeking. His conscious mind did not recognize the various sensations of touch that we frequently judge to be a set of car keys in our hands. Because God did not direct his attention to those tangible sensations, my friend did not notice them. When the Bible says that God is in control, the Scripture is not kidding. There are various examples of this causation and predestination being brought to pass throughout the Bible.

Finally, for those who just can’t stop worshipping that Lordship Salvation heretic! Sure, you have the papist doctrine of justification that John MacArthur taught his entire career—but do you have the holy relic that goes with it? Can you smell that popery? Now Baptists can take the next step in their journey back to Rome! Pop off the cork of this bad boy and take a big whiff! You’ll be infused with a unique sanctifying incense! Like MacArthur’s view of the “necessity of the shed blood of Jesus for the remission of sins,” this too is merely metaphoric! Warning: huffing these fumes is potent— so good, if you get pulled over—you’ll be charged with driving under the influence…of the PAPACY!!! Get your relic, and start venerating today! You’ll think of this holy gas every time you hear someone let one rip! What a blessing! Only $49.99 gets you this and a full indulgence, too!
Hear what others have to say about this holy relic:
Francis Chan:
“I love this! I have mine sitting between my pictures of the blessed virgin and mother Teresa! I take a whiff before going to Mass!”
R. Scott Clark:
“The unique hallowed fragrance reminds me to interpret the Bible through the lens of the Church’s confessions! This is a welcome edition to the Reformed tradition!”
Paul Washer:
“The odor brings tears to my eyes—very potent—stings the nostrils!”
Douglas Wilson:
“Finally, a Federal Odor to go along with my Federal Vision! Empty relic chambers NO MAS!”
James White:
“This goes with my tattoo of MacArthur on my rear!”
Joel Beeke:
“Why didn’t I think of this?”
Wayne Grudem:
“As a continuationist, I want to relay that the ghost of J.I. Packer has endorsed this relic: ‘Every Christian home should have one.’”
John Piper:
“I wasn’t sure you could bottle common grace…I was wrong!”

Read it, download it, print it out, and share it with your friends and neighbors. It's all free. There will be some buttons on the patreon that will allow you to donate to support the ministry, if you want. You don't have to, but we would appreciate it. What we really pray for is that the material will be downloaded, printed out, and placed in the hands of those that need to read about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how Biblical Christianity has all the answers for us today. Here's the link, guys:

🔷On Tattoos & The Desecration of the Flesh🔷
Have you ever wondered why our Protestant Founding Fathers of these United States of America were not covered in tattoos? When English speaking Christians visited heathen lands they often encountered naked savages covered in tattoos and scarifications. These heathens had not been exposed to the basic teachings of the Bible. They had not been taught what to believe concerning God, nor how to properly live. As Americans have departed from the basic teachings of the Bible, they have come to resemble the very naked savages they once ministered to. Many Americans today behave like savages, know nothing of the Bible, and proudly sin before God.
The desecration of the flesh is a common way of life in heathen lands. But what does the Bible teach about permanently scarring and marking up our body for vanity and superstitious reasons?
Does the Bible tell us to cut our flesh for the purpose of permanently marking up our skin? Does not the Bible forbid us from voluntarily harming ourselves? Did Paul not say: "Do thyself no harm" (Acts 16:28)? Cutting the flesh for purposes of vanity requires self harm, and often that can lead to serious infections, even hepatitis.
When the Hebrew people entered the land of Canaan, they were commanded not to learn the ways of the heathen. They were told by God to be separate, not only in thought and deed, but also to be visibly separate. The unbelieving heathen could easily be spotted by their scarifications and tattooed flesh. The heathen practiced this "body art" for reasons of superstitions and vanity--but the Hebrews were God's people and so they were required not to take up the sinful ways of the canaanites (see Leviticus 19:28). After all, the Canaanites were being judged for such wicked beliefs and practices.
The unbelieving world is focused on fleshly things. Many in the unbelieving world covet tattoos. Kids often say: "Man, that tattoo is cool. I want one of those!" But the Bible says: "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world" 1 John @. We are to take care of our bodies, keep them clean, for they belong to God, who purchased them with the blood of Christ:
"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
(1 Corinthians 19-20)
Let us repent from heathen ways and return to the Lord, who is rich in mercy and quick to forgive. Christ was pierced for our sins, recieving permanent marks for our salvation--let us show our gratitude to Jesus Christ and His gratuitous justification wherein His righteousness is freely imputed to our accounts and received by faith alone, according to the Scripture alone, and let us help our fellow man, rather than waste our money by desecrating our flesh.
