Every songwriter needs to understand music publishing. Here are some powerful takeaways from my CTF Publishing Industry Bootcamp experience:

Publishing is how your compositions are protected, licensed, tracked, and monetized worldwide.

Your composition can earn royalties forever. Even if you’re not the one performing the song, as long as you wrote it, it remains a valuable piece of intellectual property (IP) and it deserves proper management.

This learning experience changed how I approach songwriting now with clearer intention, stronger protection, and a deeper sense of ownership.

It was such a great joy sharing and learning together with @the_royal_priesthood_masschoir during their 2025 Camping Retreat over the weekend.

After several online training sessions, finally seeing everyone in person, putting faces to names, made it even more special.

We had over 100 voices in attendance, practical sessions, full choir participation, and beautiful musical moments as we explored scoring songs and harmonization together.

I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve, to share, and to witness hearts that are genuinely hungry to learn and grow. Their energy, unity, and passion in the room were truly inspiring and a lesson to me.

Recently, I had an enlightening session with The Royal Proesthood Mass Choir @theroyalpriesthoodmasschoir on The Evolution of Music Genres.

We delved into how music transcends time and cultures, and how traditional sounds have influenced modern genres. Our discussion highlighted ways understanding genre evolution can impact songwriting and creativity.

I firmly believe genres shouldn’t be seen as cages or constraints, they are avenues of expression, a reflection of people, their eras, and their aspirations, and a platform for creating something new.
