THE PLAYLIST IS HERE! I have now officially published my playlist of Romani movies from all over the world that show an authentic portrayal of our people, lives, culture, and language. That doesn’t mean these movies are all positive and perfect, some are old and lean into stereotypes, others are new and tackle complex social issues in our community. However, what these movies all have in common is the involvement of real Romani communities in these films which allows for authentic portrayals of our people (Hollywood take notes!). In this playlist, I have a lot of feature-length films, short films, clips from features not available on Youtube, homemade movies, and documentaries for your viewing pleasure; enjoy taking a look at Romani culture through film!

I have partnered with the Yale University Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies, in collaboration with the European Roma Institute of Arts and Culture, as a Roma Holocaust Voices Fellow to create a brand new mini-documentary series on my channel showcasing 4 NEVER BEFORE SEEN Romani survivor testimonies from their archives that will be translated for the first time from Romani to English. This new series will premiere soon in 2025 and will include music and artwork from Romani artists, interviews with Romani historians, and exclusive footage straight from the archive that has never been available to the public before!
Join us in this important and exciting journey in giving the Romani survivors of the Holocaust a voice and allowing Romani people to tell our own stories in an authentic and impactful way. Each episode of the series, we will cover a new story, allowing you to hear these stories that never got out to the public until now, Romani survivors are so often neglected and forgotten, now is the time to change that and hear their impactful stories that will stay with you for a lifetime!

April 8th will be International Roma day and in celebration of this there will be a Roma flag raising in Chicago outside the Daley center from 12 to 2! This is the only such event in all of America and is highly monumental for the Roma community, last year was the first year it happened and the first time in the over 400 years Romani people have lived in this country that our flag was legally raised by a major city. I highly recommend anyone in that area to come out and support and if you do not live in Chicago, please consider donating as this is entirely self-funded by the Roma community and NGOs that already have very little funding.
