The Indian Air Force AN-32 transport aircraft crashed while attempting to land at Jorhat Air Force Station in Assam. All five personnel on board were killed in the accident.
On 13 June 1956, Pakistan Air Force entered a new era with the induction of the F-86F Sabre under the US Military Assistance Program. A total of 102 aircraft were delivered, replacing older platforms like the Hawker Sea Fury and Supermarine Attacker, and becoming the backbone of PAF fighter strength.
The Sabre was a highly agile and powerful jet, armed with six .50 caliber machine guns and capable of carrying rockets, bombs, and later Sidewinder air-to-air missiles — significantly enhancing Pakistan’s air combat capability.
A defining moment came on 10 April 1959, when Flt Lt M. Yunis achieved PAF’s first aerial kill by intercepting and downing an Indian Air Force Canberra bomber, marking a major shift in air defence credibility.
During the 1965 and 1971 wars, the Sabre proved its combat effectiveness in multiple engagements. Most famously, Sqn Ldr M. M. Alam achieved the legendary “Ace in a Day” by downing five Indian Hunters in under a minute — one of the most remarkable feats in aviation history.
The F-86F Sabre was retired in 1980, but its legacy continues as a symbol of professionalism, skill, and air power excellence in Pakistan’s military history. Today, it remains preserved in museums as a reminder of its historic impact.

Reports claim that during the 2024 Zilzal-II air exercise in Qatar, Pakistan Air Force J-10C fighters reportedly dominated simulated air combat against Qatar Emiri Air Force Eurofighter Typhoons, with some sources even suggesting a shocking “9-0” kill ratio in favor of the J-10C.
The exercise involved real fighter jets flying in the sky, where pilots engaged in advanced beyond visual range (BVR) combat training using radar locks and simulated missile systems instead of live weapons fire.
However, it is important to note that these results are not officially confirmed by either Pakistan or Qatar, and remain based on circulating defense reports and analysis.
The Zilzal-II exercise was primarily designed to test modern air combat tactics, pilot skill, and the performance of 4.5-generation fighter jets like the J-10C and Eurofighter Typhoon in realistic combat scenarios.
Fateh-II Missile Successfully Test Fired by Pakistan Army
Pakistan’s Army Rocket Force Command conducted a successful training launch of the indigenously developed Fateh-II Missile System, equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigation systems, further strengthening the country’s precision strike capabilities and showcasing progress in indigenous defense technology.
Pakistan has successfully launched its latest Electro-Optical Satellite (EO-3), marking another important step in strengthening the country’s space and surveillance capabilities. Developed under SUPARCO, this satellite will enhance Earth observation, environmental monitoring, and strategic awareness, showcasing Pakistan’s growing progress in space technology.
Pakistan’s national space agency, SUPARCO, has announced a major breakthrough in the country’s manned space mission program. Two astronaut candidates, Khurram Daud and Muhammad Zeeshan Ali, are set to travel to China to begin advanced training at the Astronaut Centre of China.
This marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s journey toward human spaceflight, placing the country among a select group of nations actively working in this field. Under this collaboration, Pakistan is preparing for its first-ever mission to the China Space Station.
The mission, expected in late 2026, will see a Pakistani astronaut participate as a Payload Expert aboard a Chinese spaceflight mission—opening a new chapter in Pakistan’s space ambitions.
The Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force jointly conducted a Successful live firing test of the anti-ship variant of the Taimoor Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM).
