It’s taken me a very long time—and still does—to set boundaries and delegate.
Two of my greatest weaknesses.

I grew up with a mother who never delegated a day in her life. She carried everything and everyone. She was like Luisa from Encanto—strong enough to hold the whole damn village, but breaking inside.

I didn’t ask how hard something was. I just did it.
It was the expectation.
The result.

I picked it up.
Because that’s what I saw.
That’s what I learned.
That’s what I believed I had to do—carry the battalion without complaint.

But here’s the truth: boundaries and delegation are not weaknesses.
They’re survival tools.
They’re oxygen.

Still… how do you set boundaries when you’ve never seen them modeled?
When you try to put one in place and it barely resembles the real thing?

For a long time, I felt like an exotic fish in a tank.
People stopped to admire me—“Wow, look at her go”—but no one noticed the water turning green, the pump failing, the slow struggle to swim.
My colors fading.

And then, when my nervous system collapsed, suddenly everyone felt sorry for me.
“Oh, it’s too much for her.”

And it was.
But instead of accepting that, I felt ashamed.
So I pushed harder.
Took on more.
Set no limits—just to prove I wasn’t weak.

But here’s what I know now:
That wasn’t strength.
That was self-destruction dressed up as resilience.

And I’m learning—slowly—that the real power is knowing when to put something down.
