Just back from Germany. I went over to the Riese & Müller factory for their Campus days and filmed everything that's new for 2027, so you don't have to.

The big one: R&M have finally built a genuinely light e-bike, the Veya, and it comes in under 20kg. There's also a Pinion gearbox now on the Load5 cargo bike, the new long-range Multicharger4, a clip-on range extender for Pinion, and a set of lovely new colours across the range.

New video is up. I went to Eurobike 2026 in Frankfurt, so you didn't have to.

This year was a strange one. The big brands mostly stayed away: no Bosch, no Riese & Müller, no Moustache, and that left the door open for a wave of newer motor makers coming in fast. I walk you round the stands, ride a surprisingly good carbon bike that costs about £3,200, and give you my honest take on what it all means if you are looking at a premium e-bike.

Have a watch, and let me know in the comments what you make of where the market is heading.

Riese & Müller's 2027 range has landed, and there's plenty in it for ebikeist riders who load up and go far on adventures.

Top of our list is the new Load5 Pinion. R&M has dropped the sealed, low-maintenance Pinion MGU gearbox into its Load5, with 800 Wh of battery as standard and the option of a second to reach 1,600 Wh.

The new Multicharger4 brings that same 1,600 Wh option to a midtail that handles like a trekking bike. That's 400 Wh more than even the flagship Superdelite, with room on the back for the tent or the panniers.

And the new Pinion Range Extender is great for touring riders: a 240 Wh battery, about 1.6 kg, that clips on and off for extra range on a big day out.

We're also working on an edit on something special, Dan's trip to Eurobike and the Riese & Müller campus day. Coming soon to the channel.
