The essence of spirituality isn’t about achieving holiness, but rather enhancing our effectiveness. By meeting aggression with peace, we can embarrass it into settling down. This approach to responding to aggression with peace from a place of calm requires more strength and courage, but the benefits of it create more meaningful, lasting change, both for ourselves and our adversaries. Pray that I cultivate a strong intention and aspiration to run for president of the United States in 2028. My ultimate goal is not to become president, but rather to use the electoral process to initiate a national conversation that shifts the conventional role of government from protection to harm reduction. This shift aims to alleviate suffering among the American people by reducing the impact of harm. The role of government should be to create conditions that minimize suffering globally. I will draw inspiration from Buddhist ethics to demonstrate how harm reduction can be achieved. My intention is not to convert the world to Buddhism, but rather to illustrate how ethical principles can foster a more compassionate society for Americans and the world.
