📱 Help me choose! Which phone should I buy next for game testing?

I'm debating which direction to take the channel next and I need your vote! Should I represent the "Mali Squad" or go for raw Snapdragon power? 👇

Options:
🟦 POCO X7 Pro (Team Mali): Test for the people! I want to see how far Dimensity/Mali chips can push emulation today.
Seeing if "Mali can actually do it" and finding workarounds.

🟧 POCO F6 (Team Snapdragon): Ultimate Performance! I want to see high-end PC emulation (like Marvel's Spider-Man) running smoothly.
Seeing "Next-Gen" gaming on mobile (e.g., Spider-Man, GTA Vwith mods).

I’ve noticed that with HyperOS 3.0 using more RAM on my Mi Pad 7, I’m having a bit of trouble recording my screen, and it seems that some games might not be functioning properly for me.

FEX 2510 Tagged release from FEX-Emu, which is a fast user-mode x86 and x86-64 emulator for Linux.

⚙️ JIT (Just-In-Time Compiler) Improvements and Performance
x87 Stack Optimization: Significant improvements were made to the "x87StackOptimizationPass" to better handle intermediate x87 stack calculations in the "slow path." This dramatically reduces the number of required ARM instructions (e.g., dropping from 3165 to 1743 in Oblivion), leading to performance gains in many x87-heavy games.
Bug Fixes: Resolved potential crashes with x87 load/store and AVX on 32-bit applications, fixed legacy x87 register saving/restoring, and corrected NaN propagation behavior in x87.
SSE4a Support: Added implementation support for the SSE4a instruction set.
Game Fixes: Included fixes for Mafia II Classic and UPlay behavior.

💾 Memory Usage Hunting
The team started addressing FEX's memory consumption, which has been problematic for devices with limited RAM (16GB, 12GB, or 8GB).
Added the ability to name memory allocations to better track usage.
Fixed a bug where FEX unnecessarily allocated 16MB of RAM from 32-bit guests.

🛡️ Extended Volatile Metadata (EVMD) Support on Linux
A new feature allowing users to manually declare code regions that are safe to disable x86-TSO (Total Store Order) emulation.
Disabling TSO can provide dramatic speedups for specific hot code blocks that don't require thread-safe memory semantics.
This feature is not automatic and requires work by developers or users, serving as a middle ground for games that run too slow with TSO enabled but crash when it's fully disabled.

🗑️ Binary Consolidation and Renaming
FEXLoader Removal: The redundant FEXLoader binary has been removed to simplify maintenance, as configuration overrides are already supported via environment variables and per-app configuration files.
FEXInterpreter Renamed: The FEXInterpreter binary has been renamed to just FEX for simpler invocation (the old name remains as a temporary alias).
Release Date: October 8, 2025.

Winlator Bionic Cmod v13.1

github.com/coffincolors/winlator/releases/tag/cmod…

🔥 What's New in v13.1 🔥
🚀 Performance Unleashed:
evshim Rewrite: The entire controller shim (libevshim.so) has been rewritten, completely eliminating the use of shared memory (mmap), resulting in a massive reduction in CPU overhead and a significant performance boost, especially on lower-end devices. Box64 3.2 and 3.6 are now compatible, and have been restored.

ALSA-Reflector Improved The pacer's ring buffer and reconnection logic have been refined, expect better performance and reliability.

Universal CPU Overhead Reduction: I've gone through the code to find and eliminate performance bottlenecks, once again, big thanks to @Pipetto-crypto as always for the guidance and his improvements to the Graphics Wrapper.

✨ New Feature: VkBasalt Integration
Per-Shortcut Sharpening & Effects: Thanks to @Pipetto-crypto You can now enable VkBasalt on a per-shortcut basis to apply CAS and DLS to your games.
🐞 Stability & Bug Fixes:
This update includes a huge number of fixes for a smoother experience.

Corrupted Shortcut Crash Fixed: Implemented safety checks to prevent the app from crashing when parsing corrupted .desktop files.

Proton & Frontend Fixes: Resolved issues that caused crashes when launching the frontend or using XrActivity.

Input Controls Fixed: Corrected bugs with toggle switches and range buttons in the input controls overlay.

Gyro Zeroing Improved: The gyroscope now has better logic for finding its origin point, resulting in more responsive and accurate motion controls.

Renderer Selection for DDraw: Added a renderer selection option to fix black screens in older DDraw games, thanks to some last minute insight to @Pipetto-crypto.

⚙️ Core & Asset Updates
Proton 10 Support: The codebase is now prepared for the next major Proton release. Stay tuned. (...and Wine 9.20)

Updated Assets: The default Box64, Proton packs, and other core assets have been updated with the latest fixes and improvements. Additional .wcp have been added to Contents: updated DXVK (+ Stripped, Sarek for lower end devices), updated VKD3D, and Turnip. Thank you @K11MCH1 for your excellent repository.

The list goes on actually. More planned as always- now get to testing! Spin up GTA IV and watch it fly! 🫡

-Alex
