to recognize what is essential
and what is not.

Grant me discipline and moderation,
so that I do not merely drift through life
and lose sight of the light.

Help me find the right pace
that leads to inner peace.

Teach me the art of small steps —
the art of moving gently forward
without losing focus.

Make me understand
that dreams cannot help
unless they are supported by actions.

Help me build today
step by step,
to see the small joys of life
and to notice the sparks of grace
You scatter around me.

Give me courage and strength
to take the next step —
the only one that truly matters.

Lord,

that every small step

Many years ago, I studied at Purchase College, NY. And if any of you have ever been there, you might remember the large field in front of the administrative building, with a huge tree standing right in the center. I often practiced Hatha Yoga and concentration exercises beneath that tree. One day, a beautiful idea came to me: how wonderful it would be to create a sound installation around this tree, where many speakers would play different mantras or prayers.

The idea was simple — it would become a symbol of unity among people. We all turn to the divine, but we do so through different traditions and different words. Yet the essence of our prayers and mantras is the same. And that great tree would symbolize the natural, common root of all people who, in one way or another, reach toward the light.

This channel is about a year old now. I started it to create music for my Hatha Yoga classes. At first, I focused on Buddhist mantras, because I personally try to follow the teachings of the Buddha — even if I don’t always succeed. But later, you — the subscribers — began asking for videos with other mantras as well. And I thought: why not?

Now, thanks to you, this channel is filled with many different kinds of music and mantras — and we even have Ave Maria and Ana Bekoach.

Of course, this is not exactly the sound installation I once imagined while sitting under that tree, but I feel that this channel has become a unifying space. A place where people of different faiths and traditions can listen to music, pray, and find rest.

Please forgive me if I make mistakes here and there.
