We made these at a workshop lately and they really add SO much flavor to your food! Even sweet foods use salt, since salt doesn’t just make things salty, but actually help to enhance certain flavors. The addition of the herbs, citrus, and other flavors just brings more complexity to your dishes. These are easy to make and can also be great gifts!
Here are some recipe ideas to try! Let me know if you make any of these!
Seasoning Salts with Essential Oils
Choose a coarse salt, such as himalayan salts or kosher salts
Per ½ cup of salt, use a maximum of 15-20 total drops of essential oils.
Pick the flavor you want to make, and in a small bowl, mix together all the ingredients. Store in an airtight container.
Remember, essential oils are very potent, and a little can season a lot. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
Whenever possible, add the seasoning salt at the end of cooking to preserve the essential oils’ therapeutic benefits.
In the warmer months, our bodies work to keep cool by sweating more, which also means losing more minerals and nutrients through this process as well. Along with drinking LOTS of water, it’s important to replenish the minerals we lose.
We can do this orally, through supplementation with vitamins and minerals, and also topically by taking mineral-rich baths or other topical applications. Taking mineral baths can also support the body as it removes toxins through the lymphatic system and the sweat glands. If you aren’t a fan of baths, you could also add this to a smaller tub with warm water and simply soak your feet! A great way to soften the skin and still get nutrients back into the body.
To make the mineral bath soak, combine the following and add to a warm bath. Use a loofah or dry brush skin beforehand to stimulate the lymphatic system and remove dead skin cells. Soak for 20-30 minutes and then rinse off. Follow up bath with a light moisturizing lotion on arms and legs.
Mineral Soak
½ Cup Epsom Salts ¼ Cup Magnesium Flakes ¼ Cup Himalayan Pink Salt 1 Tablespoon Baking Soda 2-3 Drops Essential Oils (optional)
Combine the salts, baking soda, and essential oils in a jar and sprinkle into warm water. Swish to dissolve.
Essential oils I recommend to use with this include: Aromatouch - great for promoting healthy blood pressure, healthy circulation, and soothes joints and muscles Geranium - Supports filtering organs and lymphatic system Frankincense - Promotes cellular health, skin health, cardiovascular health, and respiratory health

How do you replenish your minerals during warmer weather? Have you ever tried a mineral bath?
