It’s the latest ‘round up’ on the Lichfield & Hatherton Canal Restoration Trust, who have an ambitious plan to restore the Ogley section of the Wrley and Essington Canal ( now named the Lichfield Canal ) to its former navigational length of just 7 miles… this will form a ‘back door’, a ‘quicker route’ to the Northern part of the Birmingham Canal Navigations, a section of the Birmingham that is rarely used…

Well, it’s been a busy week and usually have my video up, but decided to do it on the day, why not, all I’m doing is chilling in preparation for my nighty night shift.
Best laid plans for my video today will not export to YouTube, tried about 6 times and actually calmly quit trying … will attempt again on Sunday ‘an error occurred try again’, it was quicker to do a days work, drop by to the location of the video footage, film it and drive home after being out on a gloriously brilliant day for almost 12 hours …

Tonight I’m back on the Lichfield Canal for an Ariel view of what’s been going on at the ‘Gallows and Narrows’…
This week I have had an opportunity to travel to chasewater, to Ogley and a lot in between on the Lichfield Canal there at Cappers Lane and Huddledford Junction.
The Volunteers have hit some big milestones in just one week and there’s huge support from the local community …
