✨ Faith. Family. Healing. The Mae Family journey of love & legacy. 💛

I didn’t handle it—I survived it.
And now, I’m healing in plain sight.

This carousel holds pieces of a journey I used to carry silently. As a mom of nine, survival became my default. Showing up became muscle memory. Falling apart wasn’t an option, so I learned how to function through the cracks.

But this chapter is different.
This is me choosing honesty over performance.
Healing over hiding.
Presence over perfection.

If this resonates, you’re not alone.
And if you’re still surviving… I see you. 🤍

Saturday felt like a soft closing chapter.

My last workshop of the year.
My son’s last game of the year.
Two endings wrapped into one day, asking me to pause long enough to actually feel them.

There was a time when Saturdays were chaos. Survival mode. Running on fumes and faith. Today felt different. Today felt earned.

I watched my child step onto that court, not just as an athlete, but as proof. Proof that healing is not linear, but it is real. Proof that when children are given safety, time, and patience, they rise in their own way. I didn’t see just a game. I saw growth. I saw resilience. I saw a chapter closing with dignity.

Then there was my workshop. The last one of the year. Standing in purpose, creating space for others to breathe, explore, and feel seen. I used to dream about moments like that when my world felt small and heavy. Now I live them. Quietly. Gratefully.

Saturday reminded me that endings don’t have to be loud to be powerful. Some endings whisper, “You made it through.”

Now we’re settling in. Letting the year exhale. Holding onto what mattered. Releasing what didn’t. Preparing our hearts, not rushing them, toward whatever the new year brings.

If this year taught me anything, it’s that slowing down is not falling behind. It’s honoring the journey.

This was my Saturday.
A soft landing.
A sacred pause.

I get asked about my vest often.

It’s usually assumed to be a weighted vest, but in this season, there are no added weights. And that choice is intentional.

Every reset I’ve done, every assistance aid I use, is chosen with deep awareness. I’m not just training a body, I’m caring for one that has carried life, endured survival, and is currently navigating autoimmune disorders. As a mom, I don’t have the luxury of reckless movement. I move with wisdom now. With respect for inflammation, fatigue, flare days, and the quiet work happening beneath the surface.

I chose a running vest because this chapter is about regulation, endurance, and rebuilding trust with my body. It supports my movement without demanding more than my joints, immune system, or nervous system can safely give. It allows me to show up consistently, even on the days my body whispers instead of roars.

A weighted vest will come later🤗when my body is stable, my inflammation is calmer, and strength has been rebuilt from the inside out. I’ve learned that strength isn’t proven by how much you add, but by how well you listen.

If you want to see the exact tools I’m using in this current chapter 📖, I share movement supports, recovery aids, and resets that honor healing in my highlights. I only share what aligns with longevity, motherhood, and living well inside a body that requires intention.

This isn’t about pushing through pain.
It’s about partnering with my body, so I can keep showing up for my children, my calling, and myself. Try it! You might like it 🥰

We are officially done celebrating kids’ birthdays for the year.
And my heart is full in a way that’s hard to explain.

Each child was honored differently because they are different. They had a voice. A choice. A say in how they wanted to be seen, loved, and celebrated.

That matters to us.
Because celebration is not about the size of the party. It is about presence, intention, and letting your child know their life is worth pausing for.

Grateful for another year of memories, growth, and the quiet reminder that we are raising humans, not just throwing parties.

Kells said, “Ma, my friend wants you to try his soul food.”
I don’t play about what I eat. I’m intentional, I research, and I don’t eat just anyone’s cooking.

But this is a college athlete grinding his way through school, and I had to see what he was talking about.

Saturday through our lens 🤍

Our fourth born clocked in early, stepping up to watch the littles while DJ and I headed out to pour into our art workshop. Moments like that remind me how capable and dependable they’re becoming.

We wrapped the day at my baby sister’s house, gathered up because our older sister was in town and wanted to see everyone. Family time, a quick food review, hugs, laughter, and the kind of joy you feel long after the night ends.

Full day. Full house. Full heart.
’Tis the season to be jolly ✨

Ever wonder if your body really knows what it wants? 👀

We tried a simple, surprising challenge to find out. Hold your favorite snack in one hand, stretch the other arm out, and have someone gently push it down. Your arm’s reaction may just tell you “yes” or “no.”

It’s simple, fun, and a powerful way to start listening to your body again. ✨

Try it and comment below. What did your body say?
