I’m just your average video game lover. Nothing special. That’s what makes me special. I’m just a guy living life and playing games. I’ll get better. This is good enough for now.

Hello all you wonderful people. The responses to my latest video have been incredible. I I don’t know how to thank everyone. I am overwhelmed. You are all so kind and thoughtful.

I have a few videos in the making. Hopefully, I will have something up today. I want to make sure to get plenty of good stuff for you all. Some of you have been helpful with some ideas for video possibilities, so maybe I can implement those in the future.

You’ve all given me a lot to shoot for. I won’t let you down. This is now as much for you all as it is for me. We’re in this together, people. I have an actual audience, now. I’m gonna work extra hard to give you something special.

Thank you so much!

I posted this in a response to a video of someone executing an act of kindness to friend in need. I want to share this with all of you:

My best friend did something similar for me, recently. About a month ago, I was taking to him in the phone. He was listening to me ramble on about all the good things in life. Lately, things have been kind of tough for me. Money struggles are constantly knocking at my door. I had just gotten a job at a great Italian restaurant, a job I love with people that are some of the most fantastic people I have ever worked with. I was just happy. He took that moment to reveal a surprise to me.

I’m a video game collector. I love games, especially classic ones. Back in May, Limited Run Games was selling a game compilation of *DooM. & DooM II* for the Nintendo Switch. I’m a huge collector of physical games and *DooM* is one of my all time favorite series. For those that don’t know, Limited Run Games is not a typical retailer. They sell games through an online ordering service, and the games they sell are typically only available to order directly through them. You have about 6-8 weeks to order a game, or it is lost forever, making you have to rely on eBay and the 2nd hand market to get their games physically. Also, when their games are made available, they are very reasonably priced. *DooM & DooM II* were selling for a meager $29.99, but when you’re broke and without a job, $29.99 is Mt. Everest. At the end of that short window, the game order is fulfilled, and any sales are fulfilled a few mo the later. To call this a specialized retailer is an understatement.

So, as I was talking with him, about a month ago, Andrew, my friend, revealed to me that he secretly ordered a copy of “DooM & DooM II* for me, and it would be arriving soon. Overwhelmed by this wonderful surprise, I asked him why he would do this for me. He answered, “because, you always do things for other people, and I knew how much you wanted it ( *DooM & DooM II* ), so I thought I would get it for you.”

I was literally brought to tears. I couldn’t believe my friend thought of me, and acted in kindness on my behalf. He then told me, “dude, I knew how much you wanted this, but it’s not that big of a deal. It was just something nice I could do for you, so I did it.”

“Andrew,” I explained, “it’s not the cost of the game or fact that you know how much I love *DooM,* it’s the fact that you thought of me and realized how low of a state I was in during the time I was looking for a job, you bought me a game because you cared about me. You got something that was important to me when it was something I could not have done for myself.”

Even in explaining this, and writing out my thoughts and feelings, it fails to capture my appreciation for my friend’s kind gesture. It isn’t the value of the game, nor the fact that I would be missing out on this small window of time to get it while it was available; it’s the fact that someone cared about me enough to perform this simple act of kindness. It’s the fact that Andrew loved me, and thought of me during a time of need that still makes me feel overwhelmed.

Did I need the game? No. Did I want it? Yes. Was it something that was important to me, as a game collector? Yes. Am I still appreciative to Andrew after receiving my copy of *Doom & Doom II* ? You bet. Is this a moment that will resonate with me for the rest of my life? Absolutely!

People don’t do things like this for me. It may seem trivial to most, and my description of the events may not capture the importance that such an act done for me, and what it really means, but this simple gesture is something that will be with me forever. Most people think it’s no big deal. “A friend did something nice and you appreciated it. Okay…” But it’s so much more than that.

Someone cared about me. Someone took time and made effort for me. A friend loved me enough to do something special. No one does things like this for me. The fact that he did is a powerful moment that impacted me deeply. This game is one that I will always cherish because it was given to me by a true friend.

Thank you, Andrew. You’ll never know how special that was. I’ll never forget this.

No one ever checks these, do they? Strange. I sometimes wonder if anyone even knows they exist… even other YouTube creators.

Ha Ha! I’m a YouTube Creator. *I* , as in* ME* … it may be presumptuous, but I’ve got some videos rockin’ and I’m going to consider myself a YouTube creator, because I’m gonna make more. It’s fun and I hope some of you are enjoying it, too.

Anyway, here’s what’s on my mind; 2025 is a STRANGE year for gaming.

We have seen massive price hikes, for the first time, in game consoles. That’s right. Years after the PS5 and Xbox Series got released, we are expected to pay MORE for hardware that has been available for 5 freaking years! This makes no sense to me as, with mass production, the components and the chips, the motherboards and processors, the memory and CPUs are all old. Not only that; both Sony and Microsoft have made their profits, so selling their systems at a reduced price this long into the systems’ lifespans only makes sense, as the goal should be to get more and more people buying either console. That’s how it’s always been done, in every past generation of consoles.

Is that the case here in 2025? Nope! This generation, we are treated to consoles that cost more than they used to, years ago! WHAT?! I mean, seriously. Even Nintendo has raised the prices of the OG Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED… AFTER they decided to release their “Next Gen” console, the Switch 2!

Can someone tell me how this makes sense?!

All three of these companies are well in the black, financially. They are making beaucoup bucks, yet the strategy for them is to bring prices UP, instead of down, this late in the generation and with the next generation officially having begun. Yeah, I just don’t get it.

Now, a lot of people are pointing the finger at Donald Trump. Regardless of how you feel about The President, I’m going to explain why this new “variable pricing” model is in NO WAY related to tariffs and inflation.

For decades, most systems have been made in China, because of cheaper costs. With tariffs being levied against China recently, all three of these companies have made adjustments to avoid paying tariffs by moving manufacturing to other countries, like Vietnam and Taiwan. Lower tariffs, or no tariffs are being enforced against these countries, as they are cooperating with Trump in order avoid these tariffs. Hell, some games and components are just being manufactured in Japan, itself. As negotiations have developed, many or all of these particular tariffs have been lifted, or at least eased. So, that argument doesn’t hold water.

As far as inflation is concerned, the economy in America, has slowly gotten better. If the economic state is improving, it would make sense for products that are affected by “variable pricing” to reflect that, and come down. Has that happened? NOPE! No… in fact, Microsoft is increasing the prices of their 5 year old Xbox Series line a 2ND time inside of a span of 9 months.

It seems to me that the real culprit for all of this is nothing more than corporate greed. The executives do not care about gaming, they don’t care about gamers, they think we are all stupid, and they are trying to use Donald Trump as a scapegoat for abusive business practices in the implementation of their pricing structure, so they don’t have to be seen as the “bad guys.” I mean, think about it… if Donald Trump’s tariffs were really the problem, then why would the prices of these systems be going up in Europe, Australia, and Asia? Germany and France don’t have American tariffs to deal with when importing PlayStation 5s to sell in their counties. Yet, the PS5 is more expensive there, too.

It’s got nothing to do with Trump, y’all! It’s greedy corporate non-gaming execs, who think you and I are stupid. Nothing more… nothing less.

I tell you what; I have a LOT to say about the oddities of 2025, as far as gaming is concerned. I was going to say it all here and now, but I think I’ll divvy it up and I’ll say more later. Maybe tomorrow I’ll talk about some of the other things on my mind for this year. Surprisingly, not all of it is bad! I have some good stuff to discuss, too. So, come back tomorrow, if you’re interested. We’ll dive deeper and talk more later.

Please give this thing a “like,” drop a comment, and subscribe. I’m trying to grow this channel, and I’d love to reach more of you all. I’ll be sure to answer as many comments as I can, and I really look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas.

Hi everyone! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you for taking the time to view my channel. At this point, I am an upstart YouTuber, as far as posting is concerned. I’m focusing on “Unboxing Videos,” as they are simple and I have limited equipment, at this point. I’m hoping to grow beyond just having my iPhone, so I’ll hopefully be able to provide bigger, and better videos later.

I’m a retro-gamer, but I like the new stuff, too. I’m a heavy supporter of physical games. Support physical games, y’all! It’s SO important to keep control of your games, and the best way to do that is to buy physical games whenever possible.

I hope more of you check out my channel. Please keep things civil, but I welcome all comments. I will always try to answer comments, should you leave them. Also, feel free to give suggestions and constructive criticism.

So, leave a “like,” feel free to comment, and please Subscribe. Help me make this thing grow. Who knows? Maybe I’ll be rubbing elbows with Scott the “Woz,” RGT85, Jordan from “Physical Paradise,” Wood from “Beat ‘Em’ Ups,” Chloe from “Lady Decade,” along with her charming and handsome husband “Big Daddy Top Hat,” David, Max, “Retro Bird…” so many of you I love and admire.

See you all in the trenches!
