Rangers Under-19s started their season with a 3-1 win over Dundee United in midweek.

With several members of last season's title-winning squad out on loan, this was a new-look, and younger team compared to last season.

Conor Owen wore the armband while Callum Burnside had a hand in all three goals as he looks to kick on this season, on the back of a promising loan spell at Alloa last year ⬇️

Rangers have completed the signing of Olwethu Makhanya from Philadelphia Union.

The 23-year-old South African joins on a four-year deal from Philadelphia Union, with the club holding the option of an extra year, for a fee of £3 million.

He has played frequently as a left centre-back in America and says he's "equally comfortable" with either foot.

“I can't even explain how I am feeling right now, it is honestly a big honour and a huge blessing for me to joins such a big club with so much history. I can't wait to get started," he said after joining the club.

"For me, it has always been a dream to play football in Europe, ever since I was a kid, so to be here is a dream come true."

A CIES Football Observatory report last season ranked Vanja Dragojevic second on their list of top ten defensive midfielders from outside the top five European leagues.

Unsurprisingly, Rangers were not the only horse in the race for Dragojevic this summer. The main competition came from FC Copenhagen and Eintracht Frankfurt, although Villarreal were also monitoring the situation.

Dragojevic first became aware of Rangers' interest in the closing weeks of last season. He had been on the radar of the recruitment team for some time by that stage, however, with Rangers first honing in on the Serbian last December as planning for the summer window.

Recent weeks have been spent studying his new team with the 20-year-old choosing the 22 jersey number was chosen by Dragojevic as a tribute to his Partizan hero and one-time mentor, Saša Ilić.

When Dan Neil was weighing up his next move this summer, the word that stuck with him was simple: challenge.

“I think that word ‘challenge’ is probably the biggest word in my decision-making,” he says.

In an interview from Rangers’ pre-season camp in Spain, we sat down with Neil as he discussed:

🔻 Turning down moves in England and why he chose pressure at Ibrox
🔻 Captaining Sunderland, promotion with Ipswich and craving expectation
🔻 His midfield profile, leadership and what he wants to bring on the ball

When Youssef Chermiti arrived at Rangers last season - some encouraged him against wearing the No.9 shirt, but he ignored them.

"Some people told me not to wear the No.9 because there is a lot of pressure. But I said if you don't live with pressure, you don't get better. I think that showed a little bit of my character," he says.

In an interview from the club's pre-season camp in Spain, Chermiti discusses:

🔻 His future, and why he's only thinking about Rangers
🔻 McInnes and why he favours playing with a strike partner
🔻 Lawrence Shankland and the striking contingent
🔻 Portugal, the national team and copying Cristiano Ronaldo
