Kitty is in labor 🥳

This is her labor face lol. I didn’t know what to expect since I’ve never had a cat have kittens. I figured she would want privacy and quiet but she won’t leave my side. She wants me to hold her and pet her and has even been sassy toward the kids and baby which is totally unlike her. She meows really loud when contractions come, sometimes she gets up and paces, but if she stays in my lap I can feel her belly tense up!

Did not have cat midwife on my 2024 bucket list but here we are. Everyone’s guess as to how many kittens she is having is in, except for dad - waiting for him to text back. I know he was dying for play by play texts of kitty’s labor while at work 🤣

Hopefully we will have a kitten update on next weeks video - so many babies on the farm right now!

Since it's getting close to baby time, I shared the positive home birth story of our fourth baby on the blog - and a little recap on my first three births as well. I've pretty much done it all - in the hospital with an epidural, in the hospital without an epidural, in a birth center, and at home. Having all of these perspectives has given me a lot of insight and is something I'm very grateful for! Anyone else prepping for home birth??

I saw an article recently about young parents feeling neglected abandoned because their parents aren’t present grandparents. In the comments, tons of grandparents were justifying this saying things like “I did my job, I’m done. No one forced you to have kids.”

Motherhood and Fatherhood are lifelong vocations! Of course no grandparent should have to be a full time caregiver, that’s what parents are for. But they should want to be invested and present, giving only the love and support a grandparent can ❤️ Making cookies, sending soup when everyone is sick, dropping by to say hello, showing up to important events, just someone you can count, someone who cares.
