Ok, so Marvel Spider-Man 2 has to be shelved for the time being until AMD gets their graphics cards driver updates together (experimental build blue screens my PC). So for the first time in Doctor Dirck history, we'll do a poll for next week's game. If the one you vote for doesn't win, don't feel too bad. These are the games I'm most in the mood for right now so we'll likely see the rest of these next month or the month after.
Quick breakdown of the 4 potential games:
1. 'Yes, Your Grace' is a medieval kingdom management game 2. 'Loop Hero' is a roguelike deckbuilder 3. 'Sigma Theory' a futuristic global cold-war strategy game 4. 'Bumpers & Broadswords Maximum' a pog battler stylized like a gameboy game
Full transparency not much got worked on this month. I don't like to mix real life with what I do on here because this is my fun escape from IRL, and hopefully yours too, but in the interest in keeping you all in the loop for why I haven't worked that much on my projects; at the beginning of the month my grandfather suffered a heart attack (the second one of his life) which he very fortunately survived and has returned home. I'm nixing and skipping a lot of details here for brevity but without going into paragraphs of detail I think you all can understand why that might have kept me busy.
Then in tandem with that, halfway through March I caught COVID which basically made me sound like a coughing, wheezing mess; so if I even had the energy to record, it would have sounded like shit anyways. Then a week into my two weeks of having COVID I caught pneumonia and would spend maybe 2 hours a day eating, showering, and doing daily maintenance, 2 hours at my computer playing a game or something, and then 20 hours sleeping. Thankfully despite an extremely unhealthy March for me and my family things seem to be (knock on wood) returning to normal.
The only brighter-side news is mandatory overtime for my work has been suspended indefinitely so I'm able to return to devoting a more reasonable amount of time to my hobbies. As usual thank you to everyone who has been continuing to support me on here whether that's simply watching one of my videos of a game you think looks cool, liking the newest thing I put out, or commenting me your well-wishes or thoughts on the games I play or things said while I play them; so yeah thanks again. Hopefully some of these upcoming Let's Plays look cool too you and will help tide you over until I can get some real progress done on something this month. See you all soon!
I'll try and keep this update short. February was cold. Video schedule for March in the following images. No Umbrellas Allowed Lore script ended up being 21,000 words which was right around what I anticipated. The very last thing to do before editing it all together, audio recording, is halfway done and clocks in at 1 hour and 4 minutes (which will have to be cut down to about 40-45 minutes). So it's looking like this next Lore video is going to be about an hour and a half roughly. Welcome to February's subscribers, I've been very very busy lately and I'm hoping to get the next project out for all you guys ASAP. Everyone stay warm, stay healthy, and stay in good spirits. Spring is right around the corner.
Hey everyone another month has come and gone. January went pretty well, a lot of new and old friends and fans alike have been reaching out to me and commenting and letting me know they've enjoyed my videos and well wishing me which has been awesome. I hope the rest of the year is as great as January turned out to be for me. The end of December into January and still today I've been doing overtime IRL BUT despite that I've been able to make some awesome progress on the next project video in addition obviously to keeping up my Let's Plays.
This new video is probably going to be the longest project yet (in video length). We're covering a Korean game that had a bit of a rough translation into English, but I was actually able to get in touch with the story writer of the game and they answered a lot of questions I had and blew me away with both how charming they were and the very creative ways they approached the story. So obviously a project hasn't came out yet, but I wanted to update you guys with how the next one is coming along. Right now I have ALL of the B Roll recorded which clocked in at 16 hours (obviously to be edited down), and the script is a little over halfway finished and has a word count of 8,620. For reference Feverdream Softwork's video was 12,286 words and was about an hour and 1 minute long. I'm anticipating the next video to be about an hour and a half long and it's going to be really cool.
Getting kind of tired of saying "Thank you guys for your patience", but it's true. I'm very glad to see recurring commenters and people otherwise expressing an interest in what I'm working on and how I'm doing and it's really appreciated. I'm doing well, I'm working hard, and I'll be sharing the fruits of my labor soon with you guys. Thank again!
