As we wrap up 2025, I would like to sincerely thank all the players who have supported The Spike Cross throughout the year and shown us such generous interest.
Time always seems to fly by, but this year in particular felt exceptionally fast.
It has been a true joy to work on long-prepared stories like the past of Oasis, the Phantom League, and implementing unique abilities for various S+ players. Immersed in our efforts to make a better game, 2025 has quickly passed, and now we are stepping into a new year, 2026.
Over this past year, The Spike Cross has grown significantly. Our player base and community have expanded noticeably, and the game has received overwhelming support both domestically and internationally, including achieving the #1 spot in the Sports category on the Japanese store. We also reached our goal of releasing the Steam version and, while there is still room for improvement, were able to shorten our update cycle compared to before.
However, behind this growth, there were also areas where we fell short. Some updates were delayed, maintenance periods were longer than expected, and there were times when our response to server instability or client bugs right after updates was not smooth. We sincerely apologize to our players for these shortcomings.
The Spike Cross is now entering its eighth year of service. Starting as an indie game developed by a small team, expanding the project was not always smooth, and at times we were unable to provide the stability we wanted.
But now, as representatives of Suncyan, we no longer wish to hide behind excuses such as “because we were indie” or “because students made it.” Our top priority is to reward players with a better gaming experience. We promise to continue developing The Spike Cross long-term, beyond eight years of service.
In 2026, we look forward to growing even more and sharing exciting new content with all of you.

1. Redefining the Direction of the Breakthrough System
The direction of the Breakthrough system has changed from what was originally described, and sincere apologies are extended for this.
Breakthrough was originally designed for balance, not monetization, and structured so it would remain a choice rather than a necessity. However, feedback indicated that the difference between paying players and new players was not meaningful enough.
While minimizing spending pressure remains important, providing satisfaction to paying players is also essential. Therefore, Breakthrough will be adjusted to have clearer value, without creating excessive performance gaps. The target level is similar to recently released characters such as Lucas and Raul, with further differences focused on visuals and convenience rather than performance.
The priority remains long-term achievement and enjoyment over short-term revenue.
2. Increasing Probability for Recruiting New S+ Players (0.375% → 0.75%)
To reduce recruitment fatigue, the S+ recruitment rate will be doubled from 0.375% to 0.75% starting with future updates.
Previously, the rate was lowered when the Scout Point ceiling was reduced from 200 to 150 in order to preserve rarity, not to increase revenue. However, this reduced the enjoyment of recruitment and caused player fatigue.
To improve this, the Scout Point ceiling will remain at 150, while the recruitment rate increases to 0.75%.
3. Standardizing Pickup Event Scout Points and Pickup Event Player Recruit Tickets
Future events will use the same Event Scout Points and Player Recruit Tickets, allowing players to obtain both new and returning characters without starting over each event.
A cumulative system will ensure that progress carries forward, enabling faster guarantees in future updates. Event Scout Points from the Beast Spiker update will carry over to the next update.
4. Recruiting Players Using V-Points in Events

The Spike Cross was not originally designed for PvP, and technical limitations delayed its development. However, thanks to continued player support, large-scale refactoring has been underway for the past six months to enable real-time PvP for long-term operation.
PvP is now included in the 2026 milestones and is actively in development, though it remains a complex challenge involving structure, balance, and operations. While it will not be ready in the first half of the year and no fixed schedule can yet be provided, progress will be shared regularly.
⦁ Large-Scale Player Participation Content
Even without real-time PvP, content that allows many players to enjoy the game together, such as faction battles, is being actively considered. Social features and guild competitions will also be reviewed to provide opportunities for players to participate together.
⦁ Active IP Collaborations Planned
In 2026, large-scale collaborations are planned. To this end, an MOU has been signed with Japan’s G Holdings. Efforts are being made to prepare thoroughly and showcase exciting results!

Version 6.5.104 Update Notes
Hello.
The update 6.5.104 is now available for download on both the App Store and Google Play.
The following fixes have been made in this version:
- Fixed an issue where Oasis’s uniform number in the Chapter 11 illustration was incorrectly displayed. It has now been corrected to No. 24.
- Resolved a crash issue that occurred during dialogue in Chapter 7-2.
- Fixed a bug where the Day 25 Attendance Reward Challenge was not being cleared properly.
- Fixed an issue where the reward claim button for Days 24–25 of the Beast Spiker Attendance Pass was not displayed correctly.
(※Please note that there was no issue with actually receiving the rewards.)
