Vintage digital cameras, retro games, classic electronics, you'll find it all at Dino Bytes! Hi, I'm Gordon Laing, author of Digital Retro, former Editor of Personal Computer World magazine, and a proud technology geek! Games and gadgets have been with me since winning a Sinclair ZX80 for my primary school to actually becoming a professional journalist, reviewing gear for one of the UK's biggest technology magazines in the 90s. My loft and cupboards are full of retro goodies, so it's about time they had a chance to shine again! PS - if you're into photography, check out my Cameralabs channel!

10,000 subs! Thanks so much to everyone who's followed this channel and watched any of my vintage videos, it really means a lot to me! I love sharing the history of the earliest digital cameras and how many of their ideas and concepts are still futuristic or relevant today. Plus the bonus fact that the photos you're looking for might be possible with a vintage digicam from eBay costing 20 bucks! I have many more classic camera reviews coming soon, so keep an eye open for them! And if there's anything else you'd like to see me cover, or any models in particular, let me know right here! Cheers!

Tokyo is blessed with many fabulous camera shops, but if I had to choose a favourite, it would be 2nd Base in Akihabara. I've made you a quick short all about it! www.youtube.com/shorts/VlaoF6... #vintagecamera #filmcamera #japancamera

The public have spoken! Thanks for your votes everyone, it was a narrow contest, but the Canon EOS 300D won by 54% to the NIkkor 50mm at 46%! So The Canon retro review will come first, this Monday 1st July at 3pm UK time, followed by the Nikkor about a week later! Hope you enjoy them!

Hi everyone, I'm in an unusual position where I've already made my next TWO retro reviews! So I thought I'd let you choose which comes first! Either the Canon EOS 300D / Digital Rebel - their first budget DSLR, or the Nikon 50mm f1.4 AI-s - a classic vintage lens from 1981 which can be adapted to most modern mirrorless cameras! The choice is YOURS!

Happy holidays everyone! Thanks for all your support this year! As a festive treat, I made a combo vintage / value video on my main channel which lovers of retro cameras will love! It's all about the Nikon D80, their last DSLR in that series with a glorious CCD sensor, and available used for less than $99! Believe me, there's no irony using this one, it's simply one of the best cameras you can buy for this money and feels great today! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llCWB...

Hi everyone, just a quick note to let you know I'll be posting a series of shorts showing all the cameras I'll be making longer reviews about over the next few months! I have 14 waiting for my attention here, following a productive eBay shopping spree earlier this year, so I thought I'd share a quick look at each of them! Let me know if there's one you'd like me to cover sooner rather than later. They'll all get covered, but in which order...?!

A huge thank you to everyone who's subscribed to Dino Bytes and grown this community to 5000 retro tech lovers! Starting a new channel, even when you have another one as your main job, is still difficult and involves a lot of work, but I love bringing you these videos about vintage cameras, classic consumer tech, retro games and more! And as luck would have it, I'm working on a new video for you right now, about a somewhat popular model you may have heard of...

Hi everyone! I'm currently testing Nikon's first DSLR, the D1, for a future episode coming soon, but before I started, I needed to find the ideal lens to go with it. I've made a video all about the lenses I chose and how they're compared when tested on the D1 and D1x in the video below, check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AARo-...

Anyone got any vintage digital cameras for sale?! I'm looking for more cameras to review on the channel, in particular models released between 1995 and 2005, especially the early ones and first of their series. They have to be in working order too. Anyone got anything good in their attics they want to sell or loan, especially if you're in the UK?! Cheers!

2000 subscribers today - hurrah! Big thanks to everyone who's followed the Dino Bytes journey so far! I've had a few cameralabs reviews to get out of the way recently but can now get back to making more fun videos about vintage gear! Coming very soon, a look back at the Sony Cyber-shot S70, followed in no particular order by the Sony Mavica FD5, Canon Powershot Pro 1, Nikon COOLPIX 300 and many more! Tell me if there's any vintage cameras - or gaming or computer gear - you'd like me to cover! PS - it's not always possible to tell exactly who is subscriber number XX, but I know that @jakkaphan Sirinan was one of the most recent as the counter clocked 2k, so thanks to you and the 1999 before you!
