The RxSaveCard

As prescription drug prices continue to rise, it's becoming an increasingly difficult burden for individuals and employers. But Chris Crawford, the CEO and founder of RxSaveCard, is addressing this issue head-on. With his extensive experience in employer benefits consulting, Crawford created RxSaveCard to help both employers and employees access affordable medications—without changing their current pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).
The Challenge of Rising Prescription Drug Costs.

One of the major concerns in healthcare today is the skyrocketing prices of prescription medications. New treatments, like gene therapies, are entering the market with hefty price tags. Take obesity medications such as GLP-1 drugs—they can cost up to $13,000 per year, but only 18% of employers can afford to cover these costs. Additionally, PBMs—who are supposed to help control drug prices—often increase the cost through a practice called “spread pricing”, which only makes things worse.

RxSaveCard partners with over 65,000 pharmacies, including Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus Drugs, to provide discounted prices for medications. The beauty of this solution is that employers don’t have to change their current PBM. Employees can use the card to access discounted cash prices for their prescriptions.

The best part? RxSaveCard doesn’t require upfront funding. Employers simply authorize which pharmacies are covered, and the card only charges when it’s used. It’s a simple, cost-effective way to save on medications without any major changes to the existing healthcare plan.
