I figured I would give an update. I am still here, I just have not made any new content regularly in quite sometime. I will admit with life keeping me busy and selling the well known cabover, I have lost the creativity that I once had when I started this channel many moons ago; I'm hoping to find that again. One of these days when I can sit down and figure things out, I hope to get back out there again and post some really rad videos.
When this project gets on the road, I hope to make some good ones. Thanks for understanding. I'm still active on the channel and respond to most comments.
I figured I would make a post about the recent departing of the cabover. It's been on my channel for 15 years, dating all the way back to 2008. Life events happened and something had to give, unfortunately it was the 65 White Freightliner. I'll miss it for sure, but a 1966 White Freightliner with an 8v71 and a 4x4 transmission is in the works to be featured on here.
If you want to see current updates on the old truck, be sure to check out the channel CrewCab J-W. He is the new owner and I know it went to a good home.
About a month ago I said I would make a AMA video. Due to how busy I've been with life unfortunately I haven't had the time to make one, so instead I'll answer questions on here via text.
*Mopar Guy:
What is your favorite Cummins engine and why?*
I would probably say just about any 855ci. If I were going to work it everyday, it would be a Big Cam III or N14. For a hobby truck I would say the NHC-250 just because they sound cool with no turbo.
*Jacob Dean
: Where's the green and white '75 12v71 Peterbilt that you made videos on many years ago?*
It's still around but the cab and hood are currently off the frame. I'm guessing maybe an off frame restoration? Not sure.
*Shawn Dangler 379: Which truck brand and model is the best in your opinion and why and any advice for someone learning about the advanced mechanics of a truck like me*
I would say Kenworth W900L for a modern work truck or a corvette dash Peterbilt 359.
*Parker Watkins
: Can we see the green 359 with the 12V71?*
Maybe one day when it's put back together.
*Marco Gomez
: Can you make a video explaining how you put the powerstroke up pipes on the idi?* I sure can. Once I'm not so busy with life i'll make more videos of the setup. It's pretty awesome!
If you like hearing old cummins with the backdrop manifold sound and other cool old trucks, check out my buddy ‪@dawsonminiaturesllc4677‬ You won't be disappointed.
How about a video of an 8v71 with open manifolds? We recently swapped the tired 318 our of my works farm truck (Which happens to also be a 1965 White Freightliner) and got a good one from a donor truck. I'll try to get it edited and uploaded very soon.
