Watching Lanterns, loving every episode.
I like shows that engage my brain, shows where I have to focus and listen and not get distracted by my phone.

Below is a comment I left on some bad faith of over simplified reviews of the show.
People saying that the show is preaching white bad, black good clearly weren't paying attention.

Is the show perfect? NO
is the limited budget showing? YES
Is there enough green? NO lol but seriously this show needs to step up.
And I think the suit is mid...

But the acting and writing has been very engaging for me.

01) about the oath and uniform:
Hal is clearly disgruntled with the guardians, that's why he got angry with the alien at the police station, and that's why he says the oath so quickly when recharging. Besides he's said the oath like thousands of times already.

02) The race stuff is from the point of view of the mom, who blames her husband then blames the guardians then blames white people.
While racism is 100% real, she clearly goes extreme and takes it out on her family.

John cries,
john askes to shoot his mom, not dad
is salty about the crayons.
John says to the guardians, he grew up missing his family.
the other 2 brothers aren't happy
The father follows but is always uncomfortable
And now john has a mental problem with always following order, with the show showing him messing up multiple times.

You're NOT supposed to like the parents!
I quickly watched the after episode podcast, they literally say they are destroying the life of the child (john)
They talk about the ttrauma vs love motivation and fear.

03)About Hal
it is shown many times that Hal has many fans, people love him.
Hal acts like an asshole but has been shown to be correct on his instincts many times.
The show never craps on his abilities and his respect for life.

04)The Guardian clearly didn't give a crap about what the mom said to them, did you see her reaction? all she saw was an opportunity to raise a soldier. (personal guess is that she is a disgraced guardian, not the 1st time a guardian messed up)
SEE image, look at her eyes locked onto the baby Hal.

05) The ring chooses, yes consider why the ring didn't go to john 2026.
why Guy has a ring and John still doesn't

06) Snipper mission
Hal arrested the guy instead of letting a bomb clear and kill many people.
yea sounds like what Hal would do.
