What happens when a file is overwritten?

When a file is overwritten, the original data is effectively destroyed and becomes unrecoverable in most practical scenarios.

Overwriting occurs when:
🔸New data is written to the same physical storage locations (sectors/blocks) previously occupied by an existing file.
🔸The old binary data is replaced by new binary data.

And the major thing is that, when once this happens, the original data no longer exists on the storage medium. That's why when you want to recover a file using any software or apps don't save the file on the same location/storage/drive from where your files are lost.
