Got an gmod addon showcase video coming out this week, 30 minutes long and gonna be a little different compared to previous addon showcase videos. It has 8 minutes of animation, about 4 minutes for the intro and outro. It also has small animations mingled into the showcase itself, and some more skits than usual. Though it took a lot longer to make than I would have liked and the tech issues on my end caused some... delays. But it'll be out this week and I hope it does not disappoint!

In the meantime I'll see if I can muster up some content in between now and then.

How I feel just barely clinging to hope that my past week and a half were not in vain, for if it is, then so much of the stuff I was preparing to inevitably publish by the end of July will be for naught and I will be deeply saddened:

For yet again my PC has fumbled with the Windows Explorer suspending loop where it just refuses to load. Currently, resetting with downloading windows via cloud so hopefully this works. If not... well, there goes my peak Blood Debt gameplay compilation that was to have a nice bit of editing with memes and drawings, it was the funniest lobby with voice chat and funny moments. And the next is a Gmod Addon Showcase video which has an animation at the start and ending, a lot more detailed than the last, along with more detailed dividers between sections. Took a week and a half to make most of it, and losing it now would be... painful. So here's to hoping I may salvage the files at least.

Because that's two higher than norm quality videos I was preparing and dedicating to make them the best possible. To surpass all others I've made thus far in quality and effort. Words cannot express how much I despise whomever is behind Windows 11 because I swear they really aren't making them like they used to. Windows 7 was the best overall, and ever since its been a downward spiral.

So if this last hurrah doesn't work, well, there goes my month's work :/. I was hoping to get it all done and publish the two videos before August. Since University starts again then and I won't really have the time to make such detailed videos. Because putting the videos together, adding soundtracks, adding sounds, takes a lot longer than I like. Especially for these two I was cooking up. There was other recorded videos, some Phantom Forces comp and some Dodo & Friends Play Anchor. The latter of which would test some kind of attempt at webcam like Dodo Reacts To Ark, but also include a secondary "Webcam" of some other characters in the Gmod animated universe I got. I would absolutely hate to lose these things. Never made backups as frequently as I should. I've grown quite complacent given how recent the last issue was... though I suppose it being tedious to copy everything to a usb daily is better than losing it all. And that is what I shall do from now on.

One final attempt, if it fails, it's GG to my entire summer's work to making enough videos to deliver the week's worth of quality level content. Cause I don't got the time to remake everything again lmao I got another month to spare. Here's to hoping it works, and the cloud download reset fixes the Windows Explorer being mucked up.

Update: It worked, PRAISE THE LORD, PRAISE BE TO MY FATHER, I SWEAR TO SAVE TO MY USB MORE! And may whomever designed W11 be damned to oblivion for letting that one update be so bad they practically killed my entire OS.

Okay, some good news, my computer is fine after a reset. Kept my personal files intact. While the Gmod animation file for Stop Motion Helper is likely lost, at least the recordings are still okay. So its not too big of a deal.

So… my computer appears to have some issue after a windows update, explorer.exe would not start whatsoever it seemed. So, I will lose all those perfect recordings and worse the actual animation data for Dodo’s Depressing Dystopia and Dodo Saves Christmas Part 2. And Dodo’s reactions for react content. Like, I actually got some good progress on the two. Now it’s all back to zero. Re-animating all that, again, will probably not take that long, dedicate a week and it should get remade, though the scenes were a combined 1-2 minutes of content. I did keep my data from the previous computer, as a precaution, but that’s from August 2024, the work I’ve done since is lost.

Dodo’s Depressing Dystopia progress had Dodo and Rebel making some talk in the tower where they meet their new boss since they lost their jobs and had to move. That actually took quite a bit of effort to set up and animate, especially the walk cycle up the stairs and subtle movements while standing idle. At least knowing how I did it, it should be more easier the second time around.

Dodo Saves Christmas Part 2. The end of the chase section where Kero flees Dodo with the gifts and then a confrontation before he force pushed Dodo back so perfectly, then leapt off the building. Then the following where Dodo goes to find Nep, and then has the perfect spin leap from the tank as it drives by, and then lands before their friend to discuss stuff.

By far the most painful is the loss of my data for my Gmod animations and phone pictures & videos, that progress is by far what I care the most about. I can remake the scenes, I can. It was just… one scene for Dodo’s Depressing Dystopia. But Dodo Saves Christmas Part 2 took a bit more since Dodo was animated walking/running and even leaping. It was hard to animate Dodo walking smoothly his model is somewhat jank so I use clever camera angles to hide his legs spazzing about, so I limite the length of time I have to show him actually walking.

It’s do-able, and it wasn’t like I lost a lot of scenes, it was only three scenes, and Dodo's reactions for videos, that was it. Not a big loss, I can just remake them. My frustration is immeasurable, however. As the other losses are some pictures and videos. Some videos I still kept on my iphone, probably a dumb idea to split it half and half between my laptop and new pc. So there goes a few videos I am not getting back. Along with the entire dang Dodo’s Video Reaction files (Dodo Plays Backrooms is now the only video to contain Dodo reacting, I’m gonna have to remake all his reactions again for that type of video which is gonna be so much fun :/).

It was so damn sudden, PC worked fine one day, the next, it’s gone. My only sense of relief is that this, isn’t too much of a loss. I can come back from the loss of those animations, since I know how I made them and will have the Gmod saves loaded in from the Steam Cloud I can just, re-animate them.
Everyday I look back and think about how awesome Windows 7 was, it was hardy and reliable. Lasted me many years, Windows 10 lasts 2-3 years, Windows 11 lasts not even one goddamn year. Microslack is slacking fr. This sucks. Well, lesson learned. What's hilarious is I barely did anything on my PC, mostly played games, and did the animation bit. Windows 11 screwed itself over with corrupted updates that I thought I fixed, but I guess not.
