The Grass-fed Homestead is all about using permaculture principles to ethically and sustainably raise plants and animals to provide my family with healthy, nutrient-dense sustenance while regenerating our landscape.
I accidentally had comments turned off for my new video, "His Two Worlds". I fixed it so if you wanted to leave a comment, you can do that now. Thank you!
Frank Forman from "Homestead Stories" podcast recently published his interview with me. We discuss how I got into police work, permaculture, how I got into video work, and more! Check out the show and I would appreciate it if you could support Frank by subscribing to his show. Thank you! open.spotify.com/show/2ZSZpEpW1N4CEDafQIoTTO
Most of you know her only as “Dance Partner”. Off camera, I prefer to call her by her real name, Joscelynne (or sometimes “Jo," as her family calls her for short). Joscelynne was diagnosed with cervical cancer a few months ago. She has been getting treatments and is scheduled for surgery later this year but the medical bills have already started arriving. Just with the tests and scans she’s had to have, the bills are already in the thousands of dollars and growing with a long way to go before reaching her high deductible on her insurance.
Joscelynne is a hard-working, single mother of two girls. She already works a full-time job during the week (with over-time every day) and a part-time job on the weekend, but it’s not enough to keep up with the medical bills on top of the regular expenses of life. Having to work the extra hours also means less time she has for being a mother to her two daughters.
Joscelynne’s roommate - Whitney - created a Go Fund Me campaign to help raise money to offset some of Joscelynne’s medical expenses. Please consider helping with a donation by clicking the below link. Let’s be a blessing to her and help take the pressure off so she can focus on healing and being the mother her daughters need.
My struggle to get the chickens in their tractor has me resorting to using a chainsaw to limb the tree in which they've been roosting. If you haven't watched it yet, check out my latest video. It also includes my friend @TomWylie coming over to modify my @farmmarketing chicken tractors for the Cornish X meat birds.
I'm happy to report that "Big Sister" - the paralyzed East Friesian ewe who recently birthed quadruplets and was featured in my most recent video - is starting to walk again! Her legs are weak but this is great progress!
Art from @ART and BRI (with Art's sister, Anna) just launched a course on vegetable fermentation called "Fermenting Foundations".

I tried a new style of storytelling in my newest video. Let me know if you like the format and if so, I'll see about doing more like it.
